Every time I try to enter a showcase at this stop, I get this message. I’m close enough to spin the stop, but not close enough to enter the showcase?

That’s weird. I haven’t seen that before.
What I usually do is wait until I catch one and during the screen that shows the stardust and candy, it will ask if you want to enter in the showcase. This will work if you are pretty far from it. I know it’s not the best solution but see if it works.
I get this message for a particular showcase stop in my local park. I think it’s a glitch because it doesn’t happen with the other showcase stops near me. Sometimes if I put a Pokémon in one showcase, it shows up as being in the glitchy showcase as well, even though I can’t add anything to it. Definitely glitchy.
I have 2 showcases that do that to me all the time. They’re in areas with bad cell phone reception. I can be standing right in front of the sign and it will tell me to move closer. I usually have to restart my phone and hope I get a better cell connection to get it to work.
I’d say this happens to me about 25% of the time … even if I am right on top of the stop. A restart of the game has always resolved it
It’s a weird glitch where it is showing information for a different stop normally one you previously visited. Usually hard closing the game and relaunching will resolve the issue
This happens to one showcase stop so i just stopped entering it plus theres always like 25+ people in that one
This happens to me and I just restart my app and it works
Back out and reset. Sometimes the app gets wonky with showcase proximity. Resetting normally helps
It seems from my experience that to put one in from your storage you have to be in range to spin the gym. To put one in that you just caught you only need to be reasonably close, maybe 1000 feet? But that’s purely a guess based on where I’ve been given the option. Once you have a Pokémon in a showcase you can swap it with another one in storage as long as you can see the gym.
As a note, because this has gotten me before, if you want to swap 2 that you have in showcases nearby and don’t want to walk right up to either, swap one to a random Pokémon not in a showcase. Then swap the second showcase to the one you just took out, then swap the now removed Pokémon into the first showcase. Your need that placeholder Pokémon in one showcase unless you want to walk right up to it. If you just add the Pokémon from one showcase into another, it will pull it out of its original showcase and you will no longer have a Pokémon in it. So you’ll have to go right up to it again
What I don’t understand is why sometimes I’m able to put in a Pokémon in a showcase that’s a mile away and other times I can be right next to it and it still says I’m not close enough to enter it.
Restart the game. Also I didn’t know we got Smoliv
For me this happens when I’m trying to put a Pokémon in a showcase, but there’s another showcase appearing on the map. If I get to a position where I can’t see the other showcase, then I’m able to place it.
Stand right in it. Then 60% of the time it works 100% of the time.
Sit on it!
Try further, works for me

Ive had this happen at a particular stop. I just gave up trying because i literally could not get any closer to it. Eventually it worked again but not until the next showcase was available.
this has been happening to me with literally every showcase stop. i guess it’s not just me then? 🥲
I’ve had this happen before I was literally standing in the playground where the stop is. It’s a bug.
I agree with others that it’s a bug. I’ve had the message before and other times not. I’ve just realized as a result of reading comments that it’s always been a restart in the meantime that has “fixed” the issue.
Make sure that you have a good location signal. On Android, turn on Google Location Accuracy and make sure your wifi is enabled. Also, you can use a gps app like “GPS Status” to download fresh assisted GPS data and improve your location fix. Check with “GPS Status” to see what your location accuracy is and if you’re even getting a GPS fix.
Just another niantic glitch. Try restarting the app, maybe twice, and it should work. I literally have to do that every time I want to put a pokemon in a showcase. As an extra bonus, the app crashes when the animation completes
I see this all the time with showcases. I close the app and restart it and then I can add mons to the showcase.
Ever hear of pole dancing? That us what Niantic wants us to do. We are the showcase.
Jokes aside, it is a glitch. Close your game and your pokemon will likely already be in it when you re-open the game, or you will be able to put it in.
Closer /j
You can also add the pokémon from looking at in your storage if you’re nearby! Might help!
When that happens to me, I update the game logs to fix it.
Have this happen to me at my closest spinner nearly every time. I’ve entered it sitting on my back porch a quarter mile away and several times from other spinners miles away. The good news is if I can get into it I’m often the only one in it.
I’ve seen posts in here about closing out and restarting the game… that doesn’t tend to fix it for me.
The light turned green, made you speed lock.
Happened to me once. I just needed to restart the game !
Happens to me so often, but yet if I catch one way out of range I’ll get the option in the summary to enter it in the showcase. Broken ass game.
Yep…my wife and I had the exact same issue…we were standing on top of it…we tried and tried…finally reset our phones and it worked
I’ve had this exact thing before even though I was stopped in a car my hubby was driving. Restarted the app then had no issues.
