I mean between ghost and grass mega evolutions, transferring the shit ones, and pinaps, it’s not *too* bad
For example as of me writing this my timer says I still have 4 days and 18 hours left, and I’ve already evolved a 98% XXL of the largest form and currently have another 270 candies already and today was the first day I’ve ever caught this mon
EDIT: Just found I had caught a hundo of a different size, so make that 2 of 4 evolutions down and 71 candies leftover

I had 530 at the start and am up to 680 right now (no pinaps), so I think it’s doable for me. I was catching all the ghosts anyway for the medal grind, and still need the freaking purple one!

Use a mega gengar or venusaur and your whole stash of yellow berries. And then start grinding. It’s doable. I collected 1400 candies in the few days it was around last year.

It really isn’t THAT bad. Pumpkaboo are giving 5 candy per catch right now instead of 3. Even more with a pinap berry. Plus, you transfer the ones you don’t want. It’s a little grindy but not bad honestly.
Edit: If you really wanted to wait until the last minute, pumpkaboo is the spotlight hour pokemon this upcoming Tuesday.

One of the event bonuses is extra candy when you catch pumpkaboo. Catching them with a pinap right now gives you 10 candy. That’s 80 catches of a pokemon that’s literally everywhere.

It’s been OK for me, but I’ve been on a couple of long walks 😀. Only the large one left, and I’ve only got 91 candies to go. Still more than four days left.
Dunno man. This is the game. If you can’t walk a lot, or get out a lot, then it’s going to be tough. It’s a challenge.
Also, it’s a challenge that doesn’t massively favour urban players over rural players. Isn’t that a good thing?

With a mega and a pinap berry, you get 12 cady per catch, and there is a bonus of 2 extra candy for catching a Pumpkaboo. Add to that a berry when you transfer the Pokemon and you get 13.
You need 200 to evolve each so a total of 800. 800/13= 61.5 so you need to catch 62.
62*13=806 so you have enough canyd to evolve one of each sizer and keep them. If you want to keep one unevolved of each type you need to catch another Pumpkaboo.

The event is 5 day so you need 62/5= 12.3 each day. That is not hard at all if there are pokstops around you. It might be problematic if there are very few the daily incense will help

I don’t agree. I soloed this task yesterday as soon as I caught all four sizes. It was only 800 candy. I still have 2,700 candy left.

Set a Pumpkaboo as your buddy and use a poffin.
Go for a ride.
This is a game for playing outdoors, and when you actually play it outdoors all of these challenges are very, very easy.

Rural players do have the short end of the stick here, but there’s increased candy for pumpkaboo catches, add in ghost or grass mega, and pinap, it’s not as intimidating as it sounds
