To be fair, if I saw a brand new Wii U for sale at Walmart or some shit I would buy it too

  2. Secretpleasantfarts

I still buy second hand games for it. It has a place in my heart.

  3. Exaskryz

I’d buy it for the gamepad Nintendo no longer services

Yeah, depending on the price it’s probably not a terrible buy. Jail break it and have some fun with it.

  5. AtsignAmpersat

I’d buy a sealed new one if I came across it at msrp, throw it in a protective case, and leave it alone.

They’re aren’t readily available new everywhere anymore. If there were im sure there would be a few more new sales

I hacked my Wii U and is now my HD retro emulation console which is great because with the wiimotes and adapter dongles I can play classic games with classic controllers!

I went to go buy one maybe about 9 months before the switch was set to release, thought they would be on sale at least a little bit to get rid of inventory in preparation for the new console release. that seemed reasonable to me, right?

Got there and was surprised by the price. Checked and they were the same price as when they released. So I did not buy one. Seem like a cool console, mostly just wanted to play TP HD and WW HD, and so Im still waiting for that to be brought over to the switch lol.

That’s awesome. I love the Wii U. I got mine used around the time the switch was coming out. My kid was young so before spending a lot I thought I try them out on the Wii U first, and man, what a fun system. I was just over the Wii when it came out so I didn’t give it a chance regrettably.

Is it still possible to play Mario Maker on the WiiU? (Even without online features?) TV+ WiU gamepad is still the best way to play that.

If 2 are sold this month, we’d have 100% increase

Selling my Wii U is such a big regret. I’m so tempted to buy another one, hopefully there’s still some new ones out there at a decent price.

  12. AlternativeRun5727

This was definitely just to play Twilight Princess

Some poor kid is getting a Wii U from grandma for Christmas

Scott the Woz will stop at nothing until every last Wii U is gone from the shelves.

Also, if that one is in the box since 2012, and since we know that Wii U NAND rots over time, does the system even boot up?

  15. Gamefreak3525

Scott the Woz adding to his collection, probably.

And a streetpass Las Vegas event happening November 18th remember the streetpass Nintendo 3ds

Someone really wants to play Yoshi’s Wooly World or Color Splash, and gave up on them ever getting a Switch port.

  18. Latterlol

Am I the only person who liked the Wii U? I bought all the good old snes and gba games on it before they would have you subscribe to them on the switch, loved it.

  19. Wizardof1000Kings

Most likely bought as a novelty or collector’s item or to play xenoblade chronicles x. Its also possible that botw for wii u and the wii u were cheaper combined than just botw for switch, so it was bought as a means to play that.

Anyways, there are probably some nib condition wii u’s on ebay if anyone really wants one…. Xenoblade Chronicles X is worth playing and can last over 100 hours, but that’s about all you can’t play on switch that you’d want to play.

  20. Nitemarephantom

Definitely a grandparent who thought it was the Switch

It’s wild to me that we can track game sales down to the ones, based on some UPC scan, somewhere.

I don’t know my point but if we can keep track of game sales accurately than I think it should be easier to do things like count votes or something, I dunno 🤷‍♂️

Where on this earth still has a brand new Wii U for sale?
