Not long at all. One gym 1,000 hours. Two gyms at once, 500 hours. Ten gyms at once — 100 hours each. Of course, it depends on how many gyms you have access to, and how gym-aggressive your Pokémon community is.

I’ve got a gym near me I had for 25 days lost it in the morning. Took it back that evening. I’m over a month now with it

I recently hit lvl 42, and only just got the platinum for that.

I got the gold before I realized there was a medal for it now. My current count isn’t even that impressive, I’m sure, and I’m at nearly 52,000 hrs.

It took me a few months but I havent been regular about puttin mon in to gyms in that time. Im working on the next level at the moment – 15000 hours.

For some reason when I was working on this medal I assumed the total updated live but it only updates once a mon gets knocked out, so I was ~2000 hours away and one mon came back after defending a gym for 100+ days and sent me over the 15,000 threshold for plat

I did it by level 20, but you need to be taking gyms and being out there. I always have around 15/16 gyms at any one time and some are very dead where you can expect runs in the weeks.
