Love these. Feel like Nintendo hardly does any interviews nowadays – i don’t think we got any for Bowser’s Fury.

The Goombas are great. Love the little details, greeting each other when they meet/falling into gaps/biting Mario.

These are great. Better than rehashed news articles

> Tezuka: I was already thinking about what kind of Mario game we should make next when we were developing Super Mario Maker 2. At the time, some journalists and players were saying that Super Mario Maker had eliminated the need for another 2D Mario game. But I kept saying that the next Mario game would be completely different from Super Mario Maker, so there was no need to worry. In hindsight, those kinds of sentiments may have been what motivated me to come up with ideas for this game.
This is the mentality I was hoping Mario Maker would bring. Like now the fans can go wild with Maker and we can try something brand new and something impossible to do in that New Super style
Edit:
> Mouri: When I think back to the first time I played the original Super Mario Bros. (8) game, I remember feeling that it was full of hidden surprises and wonders. Coins would come out when you hit the blocks, and your body would grow bigger with Super Mushrooms. Back then, everything was new and packed with unexpected delights. However, now that the Super Mario games have been enjoyed by players for many years, those things have somehow become ordinary. That’s why Tezuka-san’s goal was to create moments that even modern players would find unexpected and wondrous.
Music to my ears. Its what I wanted for so long

Mario If He Real was possibly going to be a real thing, holy hell.

As someone who grew up with the first two Super Mario Lands, I really can’t wait to play this on Friday – judging by the trailers and rave reviews, this could become my favorite game of the year

Can’t wait to play it! As a long time SMB fan, the recent 2-D Mario platformers were getting stale for me. Wonder looks new and refreshing!

I’m sorry but I can’t get past all the footnotes in this article. Chill for a second, footnote guy.

Great insight. Really cool to know they had someone from the Mario Odyssey team work on the game specifically to inject some of the fun of the 3D Mario games in the 2D Mario games. Makes me more excited.

I like how these interviews show off what goes BTS in development like the inchworm pipe and Mario’s model.
