I’m playing right now, I love it. It’s so much fun. I can’t wait for the hubs to get off work so he can play too. My weekend plans got cancelled due to shitty weather and I plan on enjoying a lazy rainy anniversary weekend being high AF and playing this with my hubby and I’m stupid excited about it.

As a fan of Yoshi myself I really dislike the idea that selecting a Yoshi ties you up on easy mode. Why don’t make at least green Yoshi to be a regular character?
With that aside, I’m really enjoying the game and I’m really hoping to see them both Zelda and Mario again as GOTY nominees like they did back in 2017.

Just got to world 3 and this might be my favourite 2D Mario.

My copy got delivered and I played about 2 hours of it, so far its excellent, the “new” games weren’t bad, but wonder is on another level.
Level design feels clever, they made them knowing exactly what the player was gonna do and you just flow into it, like bouncing off a goomba into an invisible block, picking up a turtle shell and then encountering a block you can only hit with the shell, getting into the flow feels pretty good.
I also love the animations and details, there’s several animations for most things like bouncing off a block or enemy and swinging down or crawling up when entering/exiting pipe on the ceiling, when the “new” games were completely static, no animations at all, your character just freezes when using the pipe. Wonder is way more polished and expressive.
This is just a personal thing, but when I got my physical copy and inserted it into the switch, I checked for an update and was using the latest version of the software, the 1.0.0 on the cartridge is the latest, no day one patch. I love to see it.

I have been putting in a TON of hours into BG3 so this is such a great game to play between my BG3 sessions. You can tell the care they put into the game. Been having so much fun with it!

I am absolutely loving the online co-op with randoms. There’s a real sense of unity even though we’re not directly getting in the way of each other. The lack of a timer lets us slow down for those lagging behind, and being able to share powerups with others prevents chronic item hording and incentivizes picking up every powerup.
This is a bit of a tangent, but this co-op style reminds me a lot of the thematic aspects of The World Ends With You’s partner system. Both of you have the same goal, can sense each other’s presence, yet separated on different planes of existence. By trusting your partners and reading their cues, you’re able to overcome all obstacles together. As Mr. Hanekoma said, “You may think you’re alone, but you’re not. Your partner is in the other zone, sharing your energy. So you gotta sync up and send that energy back and forth.”

The game is selling out like hot cakes. I grabbed the last copy at a local Best Buy but went to a few Walmarts and was sold out.

This game is boring trash,a typical Nintendo game.
I used to enjoy playing Mario, but after the N64 I found all the games terribly boring.
sunshine, Odyssey, 3d World and Bros U, all boring games.
I never played Galaxy because i didn’t cared that much.
Nintendo is just big peace of shit, only the bare minimum and cash the cow, it looks good but that’s it.

I have bought new Super Mario and Squid Commando, both released on same day. Mario is great for my childrens and squid commando is only for me als old retro gamer. 🙂
