I thought it would rank higher. But this game is amazing and it will have incredible legs due to word of mouth. I expect it to surpass Mario Odyssey in sales.
So in other words it’s the best selling *2D* Mario there?
Lmao, not unexpected. This is just another generic 2D Mario platformer that reviewers like IGN (and people like Brian Altano ) will gobble up without issue. A game that has low barrier of entry and shallow mechanics is enough for super high ratings and receptions across the board. Literally Call of Duty all over again where they consistently garner high scores despite being almost identical product to the last iteration.
Game looks awesome graphically/visually, very colorful, but god.. people gotta stop acting like Wonder is the second coming of Christ and that it is some sort of revolutionary game.
At the end of the day it is just your typical Mario 2D Mario platformer with admittedly some pretty cool twists to the genre.
This is only for physical sales too. Digital will tell us more.
It’s funny because there used to be all kinds of memes about how DS and Wii especially printed money for Nintendo, but the Switch really is something else entirely. Wonder how many copies this will sell!
Super Mario 3-D All-Stars was built as a limited run release. Knowing Nintendo’s traci record, people rushed to buy it opening weekend unsure if any more would be available
