It was made in a time where the game was much simpler and these spawns were common unlike nowadays where it’s the same 50 pokemon over and over again, or at least that’s my case, where if i wanna see more varied spawns like the good old days i have to drive one hour to another city

I caught and evolve Cubone and Scyther before needing them for the previous research, now I recently caught the first wild Aerodactyl I’ve seen so far and I see this is the next step…. it’s almost as if they intentionally appear “beforehand” as either a heads up or to troll lol

They‘re currently all in research tasks! Kabuto/Omanyte and Lileep/Anorith are for great throws (first two 3 in general, but there are other mons in the pool too, second two 3 in a row), only difficult part is Aerodactyl (win 5 raids), but you could also get alolan marowak/exeggutor.. So, not easy, but definitely doable!

Long story short: because it was designed to be completed during the event that accompanied its release, and zero thought was given to how difficult it would become outside of that event. Forethought is not and never has been something Niantic is any good at.
