Have there been any word as to whether this may get a physical release?

Great, now do *X-Wing* and *TIE Fighter*.

Wild west of game programming. I’d love to look at that code

Do Star Wars bounty hunter

I hope they do Dark Forces II as well. The set of Star Wars games I would choose above all the others to get modernized PC ports though would be Rogue Squadron I – III.

Can anyone explain to a non-programmer what multi-threading is, and why it would have been used?
edit: Thank you all for explaining! You were all really helpful.

Setting up for a release window delay (which is fine, later and better generally correlate)

Is this the one that had the light sabers? I played one with a demo for Grim Fandango way back in the day.

LucasArts was low-key an industry tech leader. Easy contact with ILM drove a lot of it.
Like loads of their games had tech that was insanely ahead of it’s time, even if they were in games that weren’t the best.
Like Force Unleashed still has physics and AI tech that’s unmatched.
And their dynamic music systems were so good that they were used in every star wars game and it always worked!

Wait they’re doing a ground up from the PC? Wouldn’t it have been quicker to use the PS1 and then emulate that environment?

I got really excited by the title, but the video was underwhelming. Remastered cutscenes? We didn’t play that game for the cutscenes. This classic needs a proper remake to do it justice!
