Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.
Pokemon GO has just announced the Adventures Abound season featuring the pokemon found in the Paldea Region. This season of GO Battle League features a significant move updates includes nerfs, buffs, and new moves. In total it came with over 150 move updates.
With all these move updates, this video will focus on pokemon that received a significant buff for this upcoming season of GO Battle League either through moves specifically being buffed or access to new moves.
This week it is ultra league and electric cup. Electric Cup is a 1500CP (Great League) where pokemon with an electric subtyping are eligible. However, there are banned pokemon including heliolisk and charjabug.

Yeah, i do a lot of team hopping when I'm not comfortable with a team. I played Cresselia, Porygon2 and Obstagoon for several seasons in a row in Ultra and hit Legend with it because i knew the ins and outs of these Porygon2 matchups hardcore. If i got an early atri-Attack debuffs, the matchup plays completely differently.
On the other topic, i just don't have the mental capacity to keep grinding after my goal is reached. There is no incentive yes, but only the best of the best are up there and every battle is very stressful. Losing by getting a move caught, even by a skilled opponent, makes me feel predictable even if it was a great play.
What you said makes sense. When you obtain Legend rank there’s only so few amount of people to challenge. I think Niantic should make Legend ranked players restricted to only battle against other legend ranked players. So if they choose to tank/drop their ELO they’ll still be forced to face other Legend players this way they can’t drop ELO and make tons of stardust and get easy wins, etc… If all Legend players continue to play GBL your wait times won’t take forever. Yes it can result from them being forced to either play or skip it altogether until the next season starts. At least this way it gives us lower ranked players a chance to move up to Legend. I myself know Legend ranked players and they know the game so they purposely drop ELO just to face a lot of Ace players and destroy everyone and gain tons of stardust, etc… only to gain so much ELO and move back to 2900+ ranges. So my point is there should be a rank restriction. Legend players should battle only Legend players, etc…
I can relate to everything you’ve said. I was getting in over 2000 battles per season. I’m currently at 731. I been getting sick of the algo trying to bring my all time average back down to 50%. I get sick of ruining my day first thing in the morning with 0/5 or 1/4 sets. Most days go by without any battles. It’s Completely discouraging. However. I did get 14 charge tms on raid day so now hopefully that’s enough to get energy ball on my Galvantula. I love your channel and Poke AK cuz you are practically the only two who don’t have your heads 3/4 of the way up Niantics ass! Keep up the great work!

The comfort level thing with less-than-meta Pokemon is such a big deal. I just had my best week ever by switching my team to Munchlax-Charjabug-Jellicent. I beat some meta teams that I had never beaten before, but also took really fun, dramatic losses to other rogue teams. Super fun week
I think it's kind of annoying they limit us to only the one league and a special cup
Why not have all open leagues active all the time in an exhibition mode, and then maybe just the 5 sets of ranked matches on the cup that's currently active

I made three PoGo friends this month on comm-days/events.
We all had the same complaints:
Punshied too hard in Gbl for losing
Tear 3, 4, 5 raids can't be solo'd
BUT, we all had fun making a new friend 😅.

Battle League is just at a lull because of the 2 week spans and the nature of the electric cup.
What's drove people away are the blatant, greedy intentions behind pay walling essential features of the game over the past year. COViD drew a big crowd and they saw dollar signs. Even laid people off when they learned how to deal with the increase in players.
I used to buy every ticket and spend $20/week on incubators and rrp's. These "season of giving" hypocrite *ss mfs won't get a dime out of me, I don't care if I can only catch Wurmples till I'm 80. I will never help fund anybody with that mindset.

Great video! I have a rank 1 zard and walrein for ultra but no experience and past 2 seasons I have used shadow poli amp and non shadow drapion and got vet both times because I know the match ups
Togedemaru is very fun to play, the issue is this season everyone and their mother got Scorching Sands and now there is also Clodsire. I think it was ranked about 65 last season and now down to almost 300 with so many hard counters.
Was interested in the topic, but 1 min in rubbishing the game 😢
I used to care about my elo but couldn't get above 2400. I used to try sssooo hard, but my high is the 2390s because once I got above 2350, not only would I start seeing veterans consistently (which makes sense), but I'd start seeing experts and legends who tanked to farm on people like me. I'm ssssoooo much happier now that I don't care about my elo and I use gbl to farm for dust and rare candies. I spend the week before master league week TANKING, like I get down to around 400 elo, and then go crazy the week of master league with the 3x or 4x dust. When it's all said and done, I usually come out of that week with over 600k dust and over 100 rare candies. I've been doing this for 3 seasons now and I'm in such a better position with my dust. And the rare candies go toward powering up lengendaries at least to level 40 so that I don't have to grind raids so hard and fall into that money grab trap of Niantic's. I used to struggle with dust, but now I'm always sitting pretty. I was up to 3.7mil at one point recently before powering up level 40 garchomp, level 46 shadow garchomp, level 44 shadow lugia, level 49.5 carbink, level 42 darkrai, and a few other cheaper mons for great league and I'm still at over 1.9mil dust. This is actually the lowest I've been all session. The flexibility I have now is amazing. And now I'm preparing for the final week of the season because I don't play ultra league, electric cup sucks, and catch cup sucks. I calculated that with throwing these next two weeks, and then grinding during master league week, I should be able to get nearly 900k dust the rest of the season just from gbl. I say all this to say that you know the game is broken when there's greater reward and incentive in losing than in winning.
Great advice Dan. Team building is probably my biggest weakness but the more I play the more I understand certain mons and the way they stack against the meta. It’s a process for sure
yeah theres no huge incentive after legend but not most players make it to legend. you did say a couple thousand but thats such a small amount. i would love more content for pvp but i think niantic sees most of their players care about the catching aspect of Pogo more. Sad part is making unique cups really isnt too hard

It's all goes hand in hand. Just like within the last 4-5 months in raids, I would only 15-20% of the pokemon will have their legacy move or moves.
Yeah it'd be cool to incentivise people who've already hit legend.
But you know what'd be better?
Fixing the algorithm so more people can make Legend. I'd be Legend if 4/5 battles I wasn't Fast Move farmed down because I'm walled Soo hard. Soo great to build a team thinking "I've never seen that corebreaker all season" but then the first match you play has that pokemon as lead.

It is the same in everything in life kid… one plays this game (Pokémon Go) am GBL (PvP) is just one part of it, but it is not everything… it is a straight-line rank 1 to 20 am than 4 Special ranks to go through… am when one hits Legend (the end of the line) what's next. Funny that question should come out for you at least what 15 times now!? LOL
If they do the changes that most are asking about (GBL) still it won't give an answer to that question! what it will do is Legend Rank players dropping Elo just for fun… for them but not for the ones that want to go up!
Before we can try to make the game fun again, we must intensify or better yet make it so everyone can have a fair game/chance of succenting! after all, in any game physical or electronic…Winning equals Fun. even if one loses the idea that it was affair game makes it fun am challenging.
As for the Team building thing, I found it funny that content creators as yourself always show teams am try very hard in the videos to teach how to play the team instead of saying or showing what you said in this one! Build A team of mons that you are constable playing with!? But that does not build clicks on YouTube… now does it!

Hi Dan, Im sorry to see you in such a bad mood rambling. I also have fulltime job and two kids (you have two, right?). My kids are girls 4 and 6 and they both play Pokemon Go with me. I share them data and they play on our old devices without sim cards. Its great fun, we can destroy three star shadow raids, we can even defeat Mega Garchomp. Its great fun to establish a party and walk around and catch pokemons. Try that and you will apricate new features, even if your focus is GBL 🙂

I could not agree more.. I rarely use your teams.. (no offence) but I watch to see how you play.. And if I see myself in certain match ups.. I know what to do. Because 9/10 you have a mon I tend to play.. But jellyed to a different teams
Also the fact… Where it takes you 2 games to adjust can take others 2 sets… So remember that you newer players… It takes time to know your team

Yeah the meta has been horrible this season, so stale in great, ultra, and limited cups, master league is inaccessible for people who don’t want to spend money. XL candy grind takes forever. GBL and your videos has gotten me back into the game but this game sucks rn
Familiarity with your team is an advantage for sure. D.Deoxys, Dewgong, Licki. The team just works. Maybe it's cause I always lose lead and the team is built to psycho boost n switch in licki.
To one of the points in your ranting about Niantic… now why wouldn't they make it so Garchomp would learn his com day move on evolving etc during mega garchomp introduction?! Big fail I feel like
I've gotten really good and comfortable with my Shadow Zard, Regi, Tapu team in UL. I've pushed LB the last 2 seasons and ran in to the same problems. There's no incentive, takes longer to find games, etc. I like trying to see how high I can go but that's literally the only reason to even attempt it.
I love playing this game but yes there's a lot of issues with it right now and it's sad the lack of care they put towards GBL which is a huge aspect of their game
I know you say PvP is not rigged, but it 100% is. I changed teams every three battles for three sets. I had a hard loss of the top almost every time and two hard losses in every match. There is no way that is random chance. It happens all the time. I'm done with this game. It has gotten to the point of stupidity.
It definitely used to be GFisk, I haven't even tried it this season tho
My go to is trev but sadly it is very weak
