I haven’t played it too long but it really is a fantastic game. Taking away the timer and allowing online play with others was great idea. Most of the time I’ve played has been with other random people just messing around with badge abilities and what not. It’s so much fun

One if the best games this year for sure. Loved it.

Not exactly surprising. Wonder released when 130 million people own Switches. Odyssey and Mario 3D All-Stars launched when the system had a fraction of the install base. In 2017, the year Odyssey came out, only 13 million Switches were sold.

i don’t doubt that wonder is an amazing game but who really cares about these statistics tbh

Well if they printed more 3D All Stars more people would buy it. It really would have gone nice after watching the movie to be able to buy it.

  6. It’s crazy, I never thought a 2D Mario would beat a 3D Mario in this day and age! I felt while adults that grew up with Mario would grab Wonder, I thought kids would gravitate to Odyssey but I was wrong. It’s a wonderful game that finally put life back into the 2D games.

Good, deserved! Hopefully that means it will get a sequel. 2D Mario is just amazing when it’s executed this well.

There are a lot more Switches out there now then when Odyssey and All-Stars released.

Kind of a moot point considering the Switch had an install base of less than 18 million at the time that Mario: Odyssey released, and an install base of around 132 million before Mario: Wonder released, well at least according to this website: [https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/Nintendo_Switch](https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/Nintendo_Switch)

Idk how this game is more hyped than Odyssey, I suppose it has to do with install base more than anything. The next 3D Mario is gonna go crazy

  11. As someone who started with the first Super Mario Bros. when I got my NES in 1987, Wonder is my favorite Mario game since Super Mario World. And I guess Tears of the Kingdom is my favorite Zelda since Link to the Past, so Nintendo did pretty well in 2023.

I’m so hyped the rich CEO’s get a third yacht this year

Honestly? I’ve only gotten about a world and a half into the game so far, and there’s just nothing motivating me to keep playing. So far, it just seems like yet another 2D Mario, except with a funky artstyle.

Odyssey, by contrast, hooked me from the start and kept me hooked from the end. Practically every inch of that game was either a love letter to Mario’s past or innovating towards its future.

Can I ask a stupid question? Why are UK boxed sales so commonly used as Nintendo sales metric? Is it because they report data?

Wonder absolutely deserves it, but I *hate* how braindead easy this game is. I get it’s a kids game, but christ, even the New Soup games had *some* sort of increasing difficulty. Even the 4-star levels are almost always one and dones. I’m on World 5 and the required levels are *still* just super easy, with little to no challenge.

Still a 9/10. The beautiful animation, incredibly unique online, and badges make me keep coming back.

Finished it last night. Working thru the special world now. It’s a 10/10 game

The game is fun, but this headline cracks me up.

**Super Mario Wonder is the highest selling** (Mario) **game** (on Nintendo Switch) (counting physical sales only) (based on a two week tally) (beating Odyssey by 3,000 units) **of all time!!**

I’m not surprised. It’s just so good
