Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.
Pokemon GO has just announced the Adventures Abound season featuring the pokemon found in the Paldea Region. This season of GO Battle League features a significant move updates includes nerfs, buffs, and new moves. In total it came with over 150 move updates.
With all these move updates, this video will focus on pokemon that received a significant buff for this upcoming season of GO Battle League either through moves specifically being buffed or access to new moves.
This week it is catch cup. Only pokemon that have been caught during the Adventures Abound season are able to participate in this league. Here are some top teams for catch cup.

this video has a problem that it needs to be taking in consideration for the future… showcasing wins is not the way to ask how to do better! loses are this video the kid is doing super good! little mistakes here am three! but nothing he could say it would be not a legend run! if he shows his losses now there Dan can calculate am argue what could be done better!
Man my team is just sad. im currently running arctibax/clodsire/skeledirge. This cup is just unfair.
Catch cup always shows me how corrupted people are, you see poke that where nt featured at any time this season, so maybe they travel for one poke to a completely special place of the world to get a , serpirior for example, or they use a really bad one out of an egg..but you see how many not accessible poke always find into catch cup somehow
What ELO is this, opponents made a ton of questionable plays
Catch cup is playing just like open GL for me. Full of XL teams. Haven't seen swampert or D.Deoxys, same aside from that.
I get annihilated by Carbinks in this cup. Meanwhile I caught the one I built 3 days before the season began so I can’t use mine…
I m not a fan of catch cup, but i enjoyed these matches. I do wish all three leagues were open for Catch Cup.
From what I've seen, its A-9 and A-Sandslash that are pounding this meta. From what I have available for this cup, I basically can't do anything about A-Sandslash

Carbink runs tackle to beat azu in 0/1 shields. As well medi beats azu in 1 shield if they want switch and you get the bait

I agree, it’s easier to hit legend the longer the season goes on. It’s a rising tide that raises all ships. If the season went on for 6 months instead of 3, the global leaderboard players would hit much higher than 3600s. I’ve hit legend the last couple seasons, but it was towards the end each time. I also suck in great league, and have had better success in ultra league. So maybe this trainer will find better success if they grind during weeks where a specific meta is around
Thanks a lot Dan for showcasing my matchups. My highest ELO was 2930 this season, currently I am at 2870. Thanks for kind words, it actually boosted my confidence a from a hopeless state to a positive one: I will continue improving, and if I grind and do my best I might reach Legend one day. Now I exported and printed all moves and counts of meta pokemons and I will memorize that, to give me better idea of where opponent is. I know a few, but I feel I need to expand it more.

I can’t wait till my 2 week break is over.. I refused to play the UL or the 2nd electric cup and I will not play another catch cup ever.

next season's catch cup will at least be more wide open due to december com day so thats that. this week is so bleh bc no leagues just catch cup
