I loved playing this game. I won’t be upset if it loses, because the other nominations are also very well done video games, but I’ll be pumped if this wins GOTY or another category, despite what other might say. It’s a terrific sequel to a masterpiece.

I guess this shows which franchises Nintendo takes priority in if they were able put together a TGA trailer for this, but not for Xenoblade 3.

In a year with a whole lot of amazing gaming masterpieces, this is still far and away my GOTY. The mood online definitely gives the strong impression however that BG3 is going to win the award.

Totk added nothing new to the table and recyled so much from botw that the award would be a spit to the face if it goes to zelda.

It feels like BG3 might take GOTY, but I really think TotK (despite all the praise it gets) is still being underrated. I don’t think the true weight of what Nintendo accomplished with this game will be appreciated until a few years from now tbh. Not to say that BG3 isn’t equally as deserving of GOTY, but TotK being a sequel has unfairly hampered it in public opinion imo

I’m honestly surprised that there’s any pushback at all for TotK getting GotY. It took a masterpiece and improved it in every conceivable way. It’s one of if not the best Zelda game, and one of the best games ever. As much as I love other things that have come out this year that otherwise would’ve taken it easily, for me it’s a wash when TotK came out in the same year.
