Sorry, but have you seen the trailer? No way that would run on the next Switch. We will get a lazy port of GTA 6 on the Switch 4 that can’t consistently reach 30 fps in around 2042

Honestly even a poor port of GTA 5 on Switch would be pretty crazy. GTA 6 is never happening unless Nintendo makes a console that’s focusing on perfomance over anything else, and that’s not really their way.

Not a chance, unless it’s a Cloud version. I would love to have a handheld that is powerful at the very least as an Xbox Series S but I don’t think Nintendo is shooting for that. More likely it will be as powerful as an Xbox One X, which I would be totally down. I can see ports of GTA5 and RDR2 coming to the next Switch but not GTA6 itself.

I think it can happen. It depends on the success of the Switch’s successor. This game will likely have a lifespan of V so to write a port off this early as something that will never happen over hardware we only have a vague idea about is ignorant.

The next Nvidia chip being developed is shaping up to look pretty good. If it’s as powerful or even a bit more powerful than the z1 extreme in the Asus ally, and has DLSS, this would run on it.

In a world of Asus ROG Ally and Steam Deck being able to play more or less every PC game thrown at it, who knows what the future (2024/2025) handheld consoles are capable of.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a 1080p 30fps paired down version could be a possibility.
Keep in mind that in order to release it on Xbox, it needs to be optimized for the Series S as well which will further bridge the gap between Nintendo’s future console and the current gen systems.
