it's stupid… Who can nail the smallest excellent throws? This will make people miss the legendary birds more.
It's extremely difficult to manage to land an excellent curveball throw in that smallest hitbox, though. Most people won't be able to do it unless it's on something huge.

I figured it was always like that, I'm always getting one shake catches with really tight excellent throws

Maybe it's just me, but I've found it to be easier to catch the galarian birds once it's registered in the pokedex. Every time I registered a galarian bird in my pokedex, I caught it with an ultra ball and a golden raspberry shortly after, regardless of how well the throw was. And I RARELY do the daily incense because I find it to be stupid. I probably only do it 2-3 times a month.
Moltress, traded for it on 1/7 and caught it on 3/16.
Zapdos, traded for it on 5/31 and caught it on 6/14.
Articuno, caught it on 10/21 with a master ball and caught it on 11/2.
Again, maybe it's just me, but I find it to be really suspicious that the very next one I catch is the one I just registered, and that I have no problem catching it.
I've always used bananas on shadows or frantic moving mons.

I've seen people with apps on their android phone that was making excellent throws a breeze… wouldn't this 'feature' guarantee any catch with that cheat app installed?

I tried to regigigas raid… first throw and registered to Pokedex…dont know this trick is actually work or its just a pure luck..

I have been using my daily incense everyday since its debut! Have found 1 gal. Bird! Caught it with my masterball! Haven't seen another 1 in months! I know someone that seen 2 to 3 birds in 1 15 min. Insence! I dont get it. I cant find the stupid things.
Imagine If there were a mode where people could practice throws on any Pokémon with amounts of every ball. Would be fun. I know I’d be doing some fancy stuff xD
You can also use your buddy pokemon and abuse catch assist to basically guarantee a ln excellent every time, just shrink the circle like the normal trick but instead throwing the ball right as the mon finishes its attack you throw right when it starts to attack, it knocks the ball back and your buddy knocks it back dead center every time, the timing is different for each mon so experiment around to see what's best for you

The trick seems to work, but with galarian birds, you only have one shot and excellent throws are hard to do on them , so Goodyear luck 😂

I like this because it rewards skill. I'm pretty decent at consistently hitting excellent throws on most mons and if it means things like starters will now be easier to catch on regular pokeballs then I'm glad this is a feature.
Honestly it's not even that hard of a skill to master; you just have to practice. Like Poke said he's not good at it, because he doesn't care but I'm sure if he tried he'd get the critical throw down fairly easily. Once you learn it it's pure muscle memory and timing.
Two things I took away from this, you also are like me where I do multiple excellent and golden razz in a row and bastard still breaks out! Second, I also agree with you about being sick and tired of the daily incense! Lol
