I’m sure it’ll be perfectly adequate.

  2. Arky_Lynx

As much as I hope this movie will be good, this statement sounds like the most generic sort of praise you can give to any franchise based around exploration.

  3. Squish_the_android

That’s the most generic investor friendly comment they could possibly make on this.

    I’m sure it’ll also be:

    “Fun for all ages”
    “Laugh out loud funny”
“The hit movie of the holiday season”

  4. Slimmie_J

Mfs are in the comments acting like the two main points of the entire Zelda franchise are not Adventure and Discovery.

You are so absolutely cool and based for not even giving a movie that hasn’t had a single trailer released a chance.

  5. No_Property2880

What a time we live in lol. 8 year old me in 1997, would’ve lost his mind at that sentence loo

  6. I’m not going to lie, it’s really difficult to trust Sony when it comes to movies. It’s even harder when it comes to Legend of Zelda. It will be more difficult than the Mario movie to get right especially if they are truly doing live action instead of animated.

  7. Random_G

In Summary: CEO of company vaguely compliments his own work.

    Saved you a click.

No information given about the movie, the Title is the entire article.

  8. Wicksford85

Hopefully Nintendo doesn’t back out of this Sony deal

  9. antonylockhart

It’s worth remembering that Sony thought releasing Morbius was a good idea, and are so dumb they fell for a meme and released it a second time

  10. Rasp_Lime_Lipbalm

“But it’s not only about the Adventure and Discovery! It’s also about the friends we make along the way!”

  11. I wonder if Nintendo will end up wanting to buy the rights of these movies back from Universal and Sony and fully produce and finance their own movies when they get enough experience, like Marvel have done. I’m also surprised they have spread out their deals with different studios. Why not stick with Universal after the first successful partnership and then if you wanna buy your product fully for the future, you only have one company to deal with, not several.

  12. Wait, fucking Sony is making the Zelda movie for Nintendo?

  13. PmMeYourNiceBehind

I’m confident that the movie will at least be decent given how protective Nintendo is with their IPs let alone their most popular IP, Zelda

  14. JayZsAdoptedSon

All I’m saying is everyone who was defending the Mario movie with their life for having no story and being brain numbingly safe absolutely deserves a “light on the plot, heavy on the references” Zelda movie.

Like do you think an Avi Arad Zelda movie will be good??? We saw an Illumination Mario movie be “hey… member that from the games?” What is making people think Zelda will be different after $1.3 billion

  15. tempus_fugit0

Damn, is Sony in charge of this project? If so, I’ll temper my expectations.

  16. Jony_UMG

Would Wind Waker version, be the best movie friendly Link?

  17. JamesA7X

It’s gonna be one of the movies of all time

  18. Your opinion means literally nothing on this subject. Good day.

  19. WhatDoesThisDo1

The only positive I can see now is that atleast maybe there’ll be an official Zelda vinyl like there was for Mario

  20. FlamboyantGayWhore

do they already have a script ready?? that was quick

  21. se7enfists

I still think that Don Cheadle would be perfect as Zelda

  22. AlbainBlacksteel

Ignoring the generic-as-hell description, Sony saying this implies that it’s almost ready for release, or at least that they’ve seen the script.

  23. 164Gamin

Ah yes, the phrase that can be used to describe 99.5% of fantasy stories

  24. RUS12389

I hope it will be at least on Tlou adaptation’s level (I know the bar isn’t very high, but it’s a video game adaptation, which are known to be 1000 times worse, so I won’t expect Spider-verse level because I don’t want to be disappointed)

  25. I’m shocked that Sony and Nintendo are working together, never thought I would see that when their joint console fell apart.

A little worried about Wes Ball directing it, he has more misses than hits.

  26. Broken_Noah

Tale as old as time. True as it can be.

  27. Laundry_Hamper

I’m looking forward to the 40-minute arc where the boy pushes 2x2x2m cubes of stone around on a mosaic, becoming frustrated as he finds himself unable to comprehend what he’s even trying to do and eventually, through blind trial-and-error, triumphing dejectedly

  28. Pretty weird to see Sony and Nintendo’s first collaboration since the PlayStation prototype.

  29. cokeiscool

As opposed to what, this movie is the worst thing ever

Lol of course he is going to praise it

  30. xpldngboy

I’m fully expecting a money-making mediocrity, much like the Mario movie.

  31. dagbiker

“A movie about chickens murdering a young boy after he accidentally hits the b button”

  32. It’s going to be live action? 🙄 jeze, here we go again

  33. shane71998

It sounds like ChatGPT wrote that quote.

  34. Your first movie in decades makes a billion dollars so let’s change studio and formula. Bold move, Cotton.

  35. maxaxaxOm1

I so desperately don’t want this movie to happen. Who needs this? What does it add the Zelda?

The onslaught of every franchise being milked to death is exhausting
