I’ve have experienced it with combee
The bug started for me the day they added dusk form Lycanroc.
It hasn’t been fixed. It just happened to me

The issue with the egg challenge is that it's not walking weather everywhere in the world, and when you constantly get 5k or 10k eggs instead of the event 2k.. that's what sucks. Stops should ONLY give 2k eggs for events like this. But you're right, it is free.

That explains why my latest combee check was male but showed female on the map. Now, on the complaints with the event. I understand 7km per egg when you're not guaranteed to get them all in 1 go. I personally decided to avoid doing it since I dislike hatching eggs. I was actually surprised I was able to put my 1 and only xerneas into a showcase. I think that was cool personally.
