As in; “Which Wii game looks the best?”
Often seen as an underdog to the Xbox 360 and PS3, the Wii did have some decent horsepower under its belt. You just needed to work a little in order to see it.
Personally, I think Sonic Colors looks the best. Everything is nicely detailed, character models are on-par with the HD versions of Unleashed and Generations, and it’s such a visual treat to the eyes.
I mean, [holy shit, this looks amazing.](http://media.sonicscanf.org//gallery/starlight-carnival-2/starlight-carnival-2.png)

I would agree with Sonic Colors. In my opinion though Super Mario Galaxy always looked the best.
*Sonic Colors*, *Super Mario Galaxy 1/2*, and *Metroid: Other M*. Yes, I can find something good in *Other M*.
I’ll say Other M. Game looks extremely good for Wii
Mario Galaxy 1 & 2: These games look so good! Probably the best looking standard definition games Nintendo has made. The art direction and simplicity of the Mario series works amazingly well for the visuals. And the vastness of space and the open backgrounds look awesome. It honestly looked almost at par with some of the HD games on other consoles at the time.

Donkey Kong Country Returns, at least in terms of art style.
Skyward Sword anyone? It’s been a few years since I’ve played it but I remember loving how it looked. I just wish it would be released in HD, that’s the only thing that held it back.
EDIT: I meant held back graphically.
Of course Galaxy 1, 2, and Skyward Sword are some of the best looking when it comes to 3D games, but some of the 2D games on the Wii still hold up really well. Games like Rhythm Heaven Fever, Wario Land: Shake It, and Super Paper Mario all have a nice 2D artstyle that lets them look good even today. Something about the more cartoonish look and artstyle makes them hold up really well.
Sonic Colors, Mario Galaxy 2, Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles (in terms of art direction — you can’t deny that although textures look PS2-era, the actual graphics like the locations at night look stunning).
I would say Call of Duty Black Ops. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3sM4DtwRXs it really doesn’t look bad at all.
But if I was to go with another game then it would be Super Mario Galaxy.
Okami.
It was pure art.
I forgot how good Colors looked. Sonic’s eyes were unnaturally shiny though, if I remember correctly.
Xenoblade has amazing environments too, I was impressed when I played it the first time. Ignore the faces and it’s a very good looking game.
It’s criminal that hardly anyone has mentioned Muramasa: The Demon Blade. Maybe the prettiest game I’ve ever played.
I agree with Sonic Colours. Especially since if you directly compare Planet Wisp in Colours (a Wii game) to Planet Wisp in Generations (a PS3 360 & PC game) the Colours version really isn’t much worse. Sega really pushed the Wii to its limit.

Why are people saying Xenoblade. Art == Graphics. Yes the game has some absolutely stunning environments from an artistic perspective. [Eyth Sea at night with shooting stars is one of my favorite looking game environments ever](https://imgur.com/a/BLOk1). But graphics wise its rather meh due to the sacifices that has to be made in order for it to run on the Wiis hardware. Just look at how awful the hands look or how grass and shurbs are rendered as 2D images.
Anyway I’d say the Mario Galaxy games, despite their age they still hold up pretty well.
Metroid Prime Trilogy does a great job of hiding the fact that it’s on an underpowered console, which is really impressive.
I’d agree with you on Colours.
Red Steel 2 looked quite good for a Wii game, the cell shaded look holds up quite well.
Probably Other M. Those graphics and cutscenes are too good for the Wii.
Metroid Other M has the best graphics and special effects hands down. The controls and level designs are perfect. It’s such a tight and polished game. (Unless poor voice acting really irks you)
Battalion wars 2 was nice but due to its art really.
Imo pandoras Tower was simply beautiful!!
Metroid Prime 3 easily was the best game graphically. The detail that went into character models and the environment, the lighting effects, and the particle effects demonstrated what the Wii could accomplish
Throwing out something that no one’s said, Punch-Out.
Everyone is animated so well and expressive. It’s has simple backgrounds, but those character models are tops.
Skyward Sword was basically an HD game that got pushed back because of 480p.
But my favorite graphics are probably Super Mario Galaxy or Xenoblade (when the camera is facing away from the characters’ faces)
If we’re talking technically impressive, then either Galaxy 2 or Metroid Prime 3. But my personal favorite looking game on the Wii is Kirby’s Epic Yarn. Such a unique art style and it looks really good for what it is. The yarn effects, the fold effects in the yarn, the buttons, the cotton it all looks so great. It doesn’t push the limits of what the console can do but stylistically, it’s one of the best looking games on any console.
Its close between mario galaxy 2 and metroid prime 3. mario galaxy has that nintendo magic where they can make something look next gen on old hardware.
The Last Story.

Super Mario Galaxy 2, this game just looks amazing.
Pandora’s Tower. Nice smooth models that reminded me of some 360 games, and art direction impeccable enough to have the dungeons and effects looking detailed. I remember being so impressed with Elena’s model. [That’s wonderful lighting and smoothness.](https://nscene.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/pandoras_tower_talk_elena.jpg)
A shout out to Punch Out!
I never gave much of a hoot about the series on any other console but the animation and simple details like the other boxers’ eyes following Little Mac is a big part of what got me into the Wii version.
I recall Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Fragile Dreams, and Xenoblade Chronicles all looking especially nice when I played them.
Metroid: other m to me is the best game graphically. Samus and the aliens had so much detail on them and most of the environments look like they were from an hd game. It was all pretty amazing looking.
Super Mario Galaxy 2

Metroid Prime Trilogy and Punchout !!! have amazingly well done aesthetics. They new the systems strengths / weaknesses and ran with it.
Monster Hunter Tri maybe?
Kirby’s Epic Yarn. The fact that it’s so simplistic/2d makes it hide the fact that it’s not the strongest graphical console. In HD, that is.
The Last Story and Super Mario Galaxy are my picks.
