Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.
This week is open great league, ultra league, and master league. It is also Go Battle Week, running from riday, January 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time
Bonuses include
4× Stardust from win rewards. (This does not include the end-of-set rewards and will not stack with the 4× Stardust bonus in January.)
The maximum number of sets you can play per day will be increased from five to 10—for a total of 50 battles—from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time.
Free battle-themed Timed Research will be available. Rewards include the avatar item Ingo-Style Hat.
Paid battle-themed Timed Research awarding Stardust, Rare Candy, and one Star Piece will be available for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Been trying this team but with toxapex instead of Lickitung and it's been pretty consistent overall
I only have a regular Dragonair (shadow's have frustration). Does regular work or do you need shadow?

I’ve been using almost this exact same team but with deoxys instead of whischash and it’s been working pretty good for me.
I’ve been using shadow dragonair for a few months now and it provides so much consistency with fast move damage that you can flip so many battles. Dragonair lead, with lanturn and skarmory in the back has been great for me
7:20 I have had that exact same thing happen and then it throws off my counting. I wasn’t sure if I was counting wrong or what but at least I know I’m not the only one
right now I play a pretty similar team, only change is skarmory instead of licki (dont have one yet). I started out with whish (lead), vigoroth(safeswap) and skarmory but then switched to dragonair bc I finally got to the point of wanting to build that shadow dragonair sitting in my bank. started out with it as safeswap, but I got so many lead where I thought "ah, if I just had dragonair in the lead I couldve played it out and wouldve been good" that I played it that way.
I did so well with my team of azumarill gligar and charjabug went 17 and 0 it was around 2100 I went up after losing so badly during the fantasy cup lol what are your thoughts about a shadow cup could be fun lol

I faced an azumarik today that got to a hydro in 3 bubbles
Android user here, game froze on charge move and i had to restart the game.
When i got back in the game i had an extra 80 wins on my battle league timed research.
Now i got 470wins and my go battle research is complete, hope i don't get banned or something.
what do you think about Trevenant in this meta?
You talk at the end about what pokemon are clickable…my two cents I will not watch videos if the pokemon is just busted, like steelix last season or whiscash this season. No point in watching someone just debuff their way to victory, I can listen to rain sounds if I need a sleep aid
Hi Dan, been in elo freefall since the end of the fantasy league from 1900s to 1500s.
Have lots of meta options to play with but every team I build seems to get poorly matched up with my opponents teams by the algorithm and admittedly me rage playing I haven't made the best plays.
Have you got any advice?
This is the least amount of fun I’ve ever had playing go battle league. I swear I get hard countered EVERY SINGLE FREAKING GAME. So much for Go Battle Week. I was a game away from expert and now I’m 0 bar ACE. Literally not fun at all! Maybe I just suck but it’s so frustrating.

16:17 I still think Annihilape is super solid and imo it's the best counter user atm. Been using with Azu/A.Slash core and have enjoyed a fair amount of success. Will say this though: it is possibly the WORST mirror match in the game. Since the counters are 2x resisted both players are forced to rely on landing shadow ball (main reason not to use Close Combat) and if you don't have another counter to it in your team… Ggs cuz ur getting rolled 😂
