Just make a dock for the Switch Lite. Though I understand that the switch lite is made to a be a handheld, I still think you should make a seperate dock. You would need to buy another controller too if there was a dock since the Switch Lite doesn’t have removable joy cons. At that price point it just makes sense to have bought a regular Switch instead
I agree the switch lite should have that option, but Apparantly it is physically impossible for this to happen. The hardware is simply missing from this device. This of course was done purposely to justify the cheaper price. Your idea wouldn’t work either, the cost to make something like that would be ridiculous.
However I believe we will eventually see someone mod a switch lite so that we can see this happen, it is unlikely that even in 10 years if this happens within the mod community that this would be a affordable possibility. But we may see a YouTube video one day of someone that makes the effort
That kind of dock idea sounds like an expensive add-on for the Lite that would make it about the same price(if not more) than the standard Switch.
it doesnt have the display-out hardware necessary for that on the board. they were very adament about making the lite handheld only. if they could make a dock, trust me there would be plenty of companies making them

Here’s a better idea: Don’t get a Lite if you want to play on the TV.
That’s like buying a DSi and asking for a GBA cart slot or a Wii Mini and wanting all the Wii’s functionality.
Buy for the cases you want/need.
Let’s say the hardware for docking was built in. By the time you buy a dock and a set of joy-cons since lites don’t come with joy-cons, you’d just get to the price of buying a regular switch. It’s pointless

Literally the whole idea behind its price point is that removing the hardware that makes docking possible makes it cheap enough to sell at $100 less than the normal Switch. Just buy a regular Switch bro

You have to remember that the Lite is a cheaper system specifically _because_ it can’t dock and doesn’t have removable controllers.
As for the drawing, no camera would be able to capture a screen that’s only a few centimeters from its lens. If Lite-compatible capture cards exist, that would probably be the solution.

Well then you’d probably have to buy that dock… just normal docks right now sell for around $50. Then you’d either need joycons or a controller because you couldn’t use the lites controllers while it is docked- joycons are cheaper, so lets go for that. That’s an extra $70. So, if you wanted to play your switch lite docked if they had stuff that was compatible for it, that is an extra 120 dollars, making the playing experience cost $320, roughly. At that point, it’d quite literally be cheaper to just buy a normal switch.
