I usually open/send gifts all together about once a week as it’s fairly tedious process but can still be good for getting items and scatterbug chances.
Something that usually would happen is that my bag limit would be reached and then the game would tell me I needed to make room to open more gifts. I knew I was close here recently but I never got the notification and was still able to open gifts, but I did notice that I was only getting stardust and stickers from the gifts though.
I backed out and checked my bag and sure enough I was over my limit on bag space but never got a notification. So Niantic may have made a change and didn’t communicate it out (or if they did I didn’t see it).
So FYI if you use opening gifts as a way to get ultra balls and/or potions and things like that, make sure you have room in your bag as you’ll just be getting stickers otherwise…
