I love it, but I would like for them to include the option to have classic “take turns” multiplayer also.

The online element was fun, but I had to turn it off later on becuase the temptation of “Get of jail free card” players was too strong.
I think all long as proper friend lobbies exist, this method for “random matchmaking” is a good solution.

I would love to play it so much more if I didn’t have to buy new sets of controllers every year because of the controller drift.

Well as someone who played this without the online features, I can say that the level design and platforming mechanics sure didn’t hurt its success lol

No. Multiplayer is awful in SMBW. Anyone who says otherwise has either never played a multiplayer game before or just ignores how awful it is because the game is so fun.

It soared due to being a branded Mario game in a desert of high profile new releases because you’re winding down the console.

The online integration is some of the most fun I’ve had in a long while. The search rooms with people trying to figure out where everything is and then helping each other was just well wonderful.
