This is like the 3rd source i’ve seen reporting this.

Well, I hope Nintendo has some new games for the current system because this year has a very weak lineup, and personally, I’m not really excited in the remaining Mario spin-off games that are about to be launched.

Nintendo: fools, each time you predict our consoles launch date, we move it launch date up, remember the switch pro, it coming in 2036.
now, we will move up the switch 2 launch date to make your report wrong, wait you said March 2025 at earliest, umm boss what do we do now?

It’s a rumor. Until anything is announced, take it with a grain of salt. Ex: the recent rumors that Xbox was leaving the hardware game. That turned out to be a nothing burger like most rumors.

Wtf is Nintendo doing? It should launch this year.

Honestly I hope this rumor is true. I love the idea of Nintendo ensuring they have a solid system with a healthy supply to go around AND a good selection of launch titles/post-launch titles.

Having a 2024 next-gen console release never made sense in the first place. Console sales having been declining for years, but have been coming down from such astronomical highs that, even in FY 2025, Switch can still push another 10-11 million units. That’s more than what a new console would sell in its first year, so you might as well push the Switch a bit more. Plus, software sales are not far off from their all time highs either. Nintendo has one of the largest install bases in history; you don’t build up an install base only to just move on from it. Take advantage of it: sell games! Software sales are more profitable anyway.
Am I the only one that wants to see Switch hang on as long as possible (as a flagship) to see it pass the PS2? I don’t want to see Switch just beat the PS2; I want it to blow past it. The last thing we need is for Switch to sputter at 155-159 million units and for the all time record to be muddy between Switch and PS2. Depending on the source, PS2 sold anywhere from 155-159 million units. Ive been saying for years that the next-gen console wouldn’t come until 2025. I could still be wrong, but I don’t think it will come any earlier. I wouldn’t even mind if it waited until 2026 or 2027. The Switch has some serious legs.
