I miss having Go Fest during early-mid June. It's really stupid having it in mid July (or late August last year), weather is just way too hot for Northern Hemisphere players.
If it is, Chicago. the weekend prior to the global July 6 7 it will be very noisy in downtown Chicago with the NASCAR's Grant Park 165

I’m so happy that GO fest is in July 13th as every July-September I go on holiday and the area I go to has absolutely nothing in pogo so thank the lord it’s at a good date

Why on earth don't Niantic do the tour & gofest events in spring & autumn when the weather is milder, so it doesn't matter which hemisphere players live, they aren't playing in either end of the extremes of weather ie. hot/humid & dry or cold/freezing & wet. I mean it isn't astrophysics, surely someone has pointed out that seasons are a thing & scheduling the events during summer/winter months is kind of a bad idea for like at least half the players on the planet for obvious reasons?!
Tour event this year = players in cars or not playing at all as it was simply too hot to play without shade & air conditioning with the 30C+ heat & high humidity (especially as the event times are restricted to the hottest parts of the day), I can only hope we luck out with a winter based Gofest & that it isn't during a flipping cyclone or something 🤦♀
If Niantic keep this sort of decision making up, the game will need a name change to Carpool Pokemon 😮💨
