These are all very much still under construction but I’m really happy with the concepts behind them. I wanted starters that were all based off mythological animals and a method of making a wish.
Grass is griffin/blowing the seeds off a dandelion. Its ability would be called propagation, where it releases seeds to draw energy from the earth to gain 10% hp every turn, until it is over 50% hp again. First stage would be called Botanicat (or botanikitty?). Second stage would be Pollion. Third stage would be Dandegriff (or dandegriffin?). Believe it or not I had this concept brewing before sprigatito was announced hahaha I know the first stage looks nearly identical though. My options for final evolution typing are between grass/fairy and grass/flying (leaning towards grass/fairy)
Fire is Quetzalcoatl/blowing out a candle to wish on it. Its ability would be called trick candle, where under 50% HP its attack and sp. attack stats would raise sharply. First stage would be called either Anacandle or Searpent, depending on what I settle on for the other stage names. Second would be either Searpent or Coalbra. Third would be Quetsizzle, Quetsizzlotl, or Quetzalcandl. Final evolution typing is between fire/flying and fire/dragon. (Maybe fire/psychic?)
Water is based off of kappa/wishing on a penny you toss I to a fountain. Its ability would be called lucky penny, and its evasiveness and critical hit chance would sharply raise when hp was under 50%. This one’s names are the most up in the air. First stage I’m torn between Snapuddle, Snappond, Snapenny, Founturt, Founturtle. Second stage I’m thinking Founturtle or Wishingshell, but I also like Wishingshell for the final evolution a lot. Final is between Wishingshell and Kappond. Final evolution typing is between water/steel and water/psychic (or MAYBE water/dark or water/ghost if I can find a solid reasoning, this one is the least solidified.)
And then a few fairytale-inspired fakemon at the end.
