I want to buy the Expert box for upcoming events like the primals and shadow mewtwo… but as its visible I don’t currently have enough coins. And it also says it is limited time only. I think I saw it a couple days ago and then it vanished, and now it has reappeared. Like the other boxes it doesn’t show how long it is available for…
So should I just buy coins and get the box or is it fine to wait?

Most boxes like these change at midnight unless it specifically says otherwise. There’s a chance it is in your shop for multiple days if you’re lucky.
