When coming across galarian birds I used to always golden razz, ultra ball, and desperately try to get my excellent throw and never. caught. one. even when landing excellents.
A few weeks ago I came across galarian Moltres and was already annoyed because I knew I wouldn’t catch it. It was pointless to waste my time timing the perfect excellent throw so I just gave it a golden razz and lobbed an ultra ball it at its wing… and I CAUGHT IT. My first galarian bird that didn’t run! But obviously just insane luck, right?
Being just a little ‘stitious, the next time I encountered a galarian Zapdos I decided to have the same approach of a golden razz, an ultra ball, and a sloppy throw at its wing… AND I CAUGHT IT!
This evening I came across yet another Zapdos. I knew my only choice was to test my hypothesis once more and give it a crappy throw and lo and behold, I freaking caught it.
Could it be luck? Sure. Coincidence? Maybe. But I’ve been 3/4 for catching with this method when just 2 weeks ago I was 0/13 since I started playing again in October.
