It shouldn’t be the name of the go account for safety it should be Email so it only the close you know

as soon as I downloaded the new update, when I wanted to use the Buddy AR, it won't let me, as it says 'Unsupported device'and that ' it's unavailable for this device'. So far, because of this new feature, I can't take snapshots or play with my Buddy Pokemon because of this.
They screwed up the buddy thing now… there isn't a thing they don't screw up

For PVP masters, im currently at 41-37.
Every set i either go 3-2 or 2-3 never fails. Once in a while ill break that cycle and go 4-1 and 2-3. But my team gets countered pretty good.
You can't even open the gifts from your buddy mon because the AR doesn't work at all.
I am guessing these accounts issues doesn't happen to Google accounts? since reseting would bee done via Google and not Niantic?

well I could tell you one thing the kids account is more difficult to getting to because made one for my son he got a new phone and I can't even get logged back in it's a PIA.
I have encountered a problem as well since I couldn't access buddy features for example I couldn't go into buddy AR it said buddy_phone_not_ar_capable
An now it sais the phone isn't compatible
One of the accounts I had (family member stopped playing so I took it over) was stolen in February and Niantic have gone deaf dumb and blind.

I cannot play Pokemon Go anymore on my old phone (Samsung Galaxy S7) since yesterday. Forced update, and then Google Play said not supported. Apparently android 8 is not allowed anymore.
I would be pissed, because he's not you… You're a youtuber, so they'll restore your account fully… The other people like us will get completely screwed…
The ONLY reason I believe in the theory that they know what they're doing is that the AR doesn't work with my buddy pokemon. BUT if I just go to my pokemon storage & click a pokemon to take a picture of it works just fine…🤨
The ar said its currently unavailable for me when I have a phone that's 3 years old.. its a samsung A12 but my iPhone 7.. works ar… I think it's a bug overall and they NEED to fix it. It's been a bug for a long time now I can't even earn hearts unless I use my iPhone 7 which for one was for my second account.. Niantic is truly going down hill.. feels bad cus unmotivated to play now and switch phones left and right.
its fax the go+plus makes my iphone 8 crash i can only use older auto catcher on that phone
It's not just the account recovery on Niantic's website, it's the fact that you can gain access to an account that easily with a simple social engineering attack. Anyone can email Niantic claiming they "can't sign in" as most Pokémon Go content creators and have answers to the questions asked in the recovery process and switch the email associated with the account, especially someone who livestreams the whole thing to Twitch and shows off his stats, like FleeceKing does.
Sadly, changing email passwords won't do anything if the method of attack bypasses email and passwords altogether. You just need to have a Google account to switch the Pokémon Go account to and you're done. The real measure here is to control the oversharing of your Pokémon Go account to people with bad intentions, especially on social media
Crazy bug hasnt been fixed it.. tho shadow raids are bugged and it took 3-4 weeks even niantic notice it and still not fixed it. only put system you get back unused gems, so i think you dont actually even get gems back XD
This ar system prob gonna take also while to fix. First it take long time before niantic even notice any bugs cause 99% time any message people send on support stopped by bot who give answer. And secondly they dont really bother prio any fix update unless it greatly hurt their income of money
i started my account yesterday and was greeted with the '`update to continue'` screen. clicked it and taken to play store where it says '`this phone isn`t compatie with this app.'' i have a samsung galaxy S7 that i have been using since I opened my account in 2017
sorry Niantic but i take good care of my phone equipment. yeah it is old but it has served me well over the many years.
