Is it based on where u live? Bc mines a Beach and I live by the coast

Are these recent? I just started the game again today (I know, funny given the circumstances) and I thought it looked quite a bit nicer than I remembered and was surprised when buildings started showing up after I left the woods and entered a more suburban area. It was a nice touch.
