SMT V is the only SMT game I have replayed to get the different endings, I would def recommend it to someone that hasn’t played before.

Cool. So… you gonna give Switch owners who bought it digitally a discount or…? Like we know the eshop can do it with games like bayonetta. Would be nice to not have to pay $60 again.

SMTV was my first SMT game and loved everything about it, I wasn’t sure about getting this enhanced version but there is so much new content and everything seems way better than the base game so it’s a tough decision.

How’s the story in these games? Im in the mood of some actual good story and characters right now

Did she’s swallow Sammy and Altus whole yet?

Personally I loved SMT V. One of my favorite Megaten games, could possibly be my favorite if it had a more involved story and fleshed out the characters more. It has been pretty much outright stated that they had to cut a lot of stuff for the initial version, so hopefully this version gives the complete experience with the story that was missing the first time around.

Also I find it funny that the article has to spend a few paragraphs talking about Persona and it’s success compared to SMT. I myself kinda dig SMT more than Persona even though I think the modern Persona games are probably the better games mainly due to budget and having a winning formula. But I just prefer the post apocalyptic dark vibes that SMT gives, plus the combat is almost always better in SMT.

EDIT: At the very end of the article they mention about hoping for steam deck support, but they must not have done much research because the game is already deck verified on steam.

Base SMTV was really great despite the weak story. The open world was pretty barren but somehow still really enjoyable to explore and the soundtrack was killer. Really looking forward to Vengeance. Between this, Persona 3 Reload, and Metaphor: Refantazio, we eating good this year for Atlus RPGs

I’m pretty hype for this, but I’m still a little disappointed you can only get it as a standalone release, instead of an expansion DLC.

As someone who was interested in SMTV but never picked it up, this release is a bit overwhelming for me. Now if I want to fully experience the game it seems like there are two full stories so I essentially have to play this MASSIVE RPG twice? Idk…

Any idea if the extra Vengeance path is meant to be for returning players to play or could a newcomer to SMT V play that storyline first?
