New series. In this series I go over the history of pokemon including their meta relevance in GBL. In the series I will go over important information like stats, moveset, and typings; what seasons the pokemon were relevant in and why; and how to team build with the pokemon.

The best Ottawa Pokemon Go Youtuber….is Poke Daxi but I am here too
This channel is where you come if you want ideas for:
Great League Teams
Ultra League Teams
Master League Teams

Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.

This week it is great league and master league premier. Master league premier means no legendary pokemon.

  1. I was in the leaderboards early in the season in the top 50 and im at 2650 too. Its ok been legend plenty of times and i don't want to spend 283849 hours watching YouTube abd study a lot to get there. If i get there i get. If not.. Oh well.

  2. Just wait for Great League remix. Hopefully you can build some good teams for that meta!

  3. I’ve been struggling too. A pokemon I think is underrated in the current meta is Whimsicott. If you have it and two Skarm answers it can cook.

  4. I can’t even reach Ace this season. You can reach level 15 on charm shadow A-Nine alone so putting together goofy teams is kinda fun. 15-20 you have to start playing serious but this meta has put such a wall up after that I’m almost begging for stupid limited cups just so I can run d list polemon. .

  5. PV Poke has lickitung beating whishcash annihilape and skarmony, not sure if the skarmony matchup is correct

  6. I get to 2200 and then bounce back to 2000. It is killing my desire to play. I'd rather just gain 50 a day from 3-2 sets than gain 200 one day then lose it the next day. I just cannot find a team I enjoy either.

  7. I am stuck around 2600 battling people with legend poses constantly, also having trouble reaching Expert. I play the only team I know how to play: mudboy double flying. I am counting, timing my moves, undercharging and still I struggle. There are much better players at this elo then usual. I wonder why? Will I even reach Expert this season? I had ambitions for Legend..

  8. Dan I'm in the 1900s right now because I tried to win with GL Pokémon in MLP & I don't have the slightest worry about not hitting legend. There's still loads of time left this season & the later you leave it, the easier it is to push for legend, if there's a decent meta for it (which I think GL Remix will be). Don't forget GO Battle Weekend is this weekend too so capitalise on that.

  9. Try lantern double dragon been using s dragonair a dragonite prob better to use guzzlord….. bait out the fairy

  10. Skarmory mudboi metas are not good metas. That's the issue.

Maybe give H electrode a try as a core breaker for that. Just needs an answer or grass and dragon, so ice would pair well

  11. Highest I ever made it was 2900 but honestly hitting Legend isnt anything special when you can do it by using something RPS like Basti, Wiggly, and Victreebell. I can barely motivate myself to do 1 set per day in the current state of the game.

  12. I am stuck at 2400 for 300 games. Went 80 wins+ during ranking and came out 2300ish at season start. Never moved. Was legend last seaon lol

  13. I've been struggling this season too, I hit legend 8-9 times. If I don't hit it, it's fine.

  14. You are a very good player Dan. It's difficult to produce different content every day and always find a team that works. Otherwise you would be much further along – my respect! Today I reached 2920. Last season I was at 2400-2500 until 3 weeks before the end and had achieved legend two days before the end. I use the same team as last season and it works much better. It's also a Sableye Lead with Bastiodon as the enforcer. I'll probably skip the Remix Cup and Fang Cup in order to have a good chance of becoming a legend in the Superliga last week if it doesn't work out this week.

  15. I’ve only been playing gbl for a year and I’m stuck around 2200-2300 as soon as I hit 2300 I sing back down to 22/2100 pretty fast making dumb mistakes

  16. The core breaker is Jellicent. It got me 250 elo

Shadow gligar on the lead, Azu with IB/PR on the safe swap and Jelly as the closer. So ABB.

Lantern is a core breaker, but on the lead I try and catch a surf on Azu. And Azu does decent with play rough. And usually Jelly roams free.

The Ape has nowhere to go (Jelly out paces to the shadow ball). That’s how I came up with the team

  17. One of my locals, this season's leaderboard player didn't hit legend last season I mean it is possible but there is still time and I hope we can reach it. I'm struggling too

  18. bro which one of those pokemon you named can shadow giraffarig with confusion and thunderbolt not handle. call up the giraffe

  19. Yeah I'm over gbl this season. I get to just under expert and then all of a sudden I'm knocked back down to 2560…. see ya next season… I'm so frustrated with the scald debuff

  20. I went 10-0 to get to expert for the first time now at 2830. To be fair though I got lucky I didn’t see the skarm/whis and bastidon teams which are my roughest match ups either set.

  21. I ran Double dark with Greninja + Umbreon with Jellicent to "beat" Trevanant with Shadow ball.

Maybe a double dark team with a Skarmory counter could be the meta breaker this season?

  22. I'm having a very different GBL experience this season. Granted this is only my third or fourth season but in the last couple of seasons I was getting stuck in the 2600's. This season I'm currently 2864 and confident based on my wins these last couple of days that I might be able to hit legend for the first time. I haven't had a negative set in days.

On your point that you haven't found your corebreaker, I think you have. You've been talking about Mandibuzz all season with Dark Pulse, and you know who wins the 1's against Whiscash, Annihilape, and Skarmory? Mandibuzz. I think you need to commit to a team built around Mandibuzz and send it. Get familiar with it even if you get some negative sets at first, then really push. I know you're a better player than me. Your track record proves it, and I watch your videos along with other GBL content creators to get better and influence my success.

If I were to build around Mandibuzz, I'd build against Lanturn, Wigglytuff, and Carbink. Not that I've seen a bunch of Carbink but it's a wall to Mandibuzz. I think Cress would work as a good second option here. With these two you're gonna run into problems with Registeel (which you never see), Bastiodon, Guzzlord (if you're running Future Sight over moonblast), and A Slash. I actually think Grass Knot and Moonblast would be the way to go for this pairing. For your safe swap I'd probably go either Gligar or Annihilape.

Good luck out there Dan! Sorry for the long-winded comment
