    Pretty cool they brought back previous champions and competitors for this and seeing how much older they got.

    Looks like fun. The commercial was really neat.

    For anyone wondering, it’s digital only ($30) but there’s a special edition with a physical copy ($60).

    Way back in 1990, I made it to the semi finals of the original Nintendo world championship. I was in Houston at the time and remember the two days as probably the happiest time of my youth. In all of my years as a gamer, I have never bought a deluxe version of a game, but I think I might with this one.

    NES Remix but they forgot to remix it so it’s just NES Challenge

  5. There are 13 games featured. They are:

    * Super Mario Bros.
    * The Legend of Zelda
    * Metroid
    * Donkey Kong
    * Kid Icarus
    * Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA)
    * Excitebike
    * Ice Climber
    * Balloon Fight
    * Super Mario Bros. 3
    * Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
    * Super Mario Bros. 2 (The Lost Levels)
    * Kirby’s Adventure

    Seems like a lot of money to play games I already own for 15 seconds, not to mention I’ve never had an interest in speedrunning.

  7. Really disappointed it doesn’t have a mode to duplicate the games from various year’s championships. Would be fun to try and beat the record of each years winner.

    Cute ad! I don’t think the game’s for me, but I’m glad it exists.

    I wonder if it’s gonna use a version of the NSO emulator to run the games.

    “NES games are not included in their entirety.”

    lol lol

    Whether the Deluxe version is worth it will depend on the quality of the replica imo. The Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon 30th anniversary set was amazingly priced and came with a brilliant book AND an acrylic cart replica. However the game was still digital-only.

    I don’t have any nostalgia for the carts since I never had an NES, so I prefer the acrylic version as a cool collectible. If this gold one is meant to feel authentically plastic I’ll be disappointed tbh. Hoping it has a sturdy feel.

    But the pins look nice. The sad part is pins are pretty pricey these days. Prob $20 for a pack of pins alone. So… it’s still prob worth regardless tbh. And just like that I’ve talked myself into it

    Don’t want to be the party pooper, but based on what we have seen it’s insane that this is 30$ while both NES Remix that seem to offer more were 10$ on release.

    But hey, so is the entire Switch pricing

  13. The multiplayer looks like something I’ve been wanting for a long time. I just hope the 150 challenges don’t get repetitive too fast.

    This looks kind of weak, especially for its price. There’s a reason they pushed this out the door instead of saving it for the Direct.

    So moreso NES Remix for Switch then? NWC was focused on just running through the first two game challenges and trying to get as much of a high score through Tetris before the timer ran out

    So its NES Remix 3, with multiplayer. Honestly really cool. NES Remix was one of the last of the Wii U/3DS exclusives I wanted to get a port. As for the price, well, $30 is still better than $60. If it matches the content of NES Remix 1 and 2 plus multiplayer, that’s more than worth the price in my opinion.

    Would have been cool if they included NES Tetris like the original, but I get why they didn’t. Still looks awesome.
