Heh. Golpher strikes me as the type of critter to accidentally find gold by a stroke of luck. Whereas Golphiser is like that same individual getting greedy, and trying its damnedest to replicate that lucky find.
Perhaps it’s a sort of Early Game Mon that helps you make money, similar to Meowth!
