“drift” impacted such a small percentage of switch owners, and Nintendo also offers to fix them for free, so this makes the most logical outcome.

Nintendo getting away with more bullshit

This wasn’t even Nintendo’s fault. There’s currently one supplier of joysticks for the entire game industry and they all have the same issue.

  4. Pretty sure this is old news. One lawsuit got dismissed cuz Nintendo had an arbitration clause in their EULA that applied to all Switch owners and nobody went through the process to not enter into arbitration, so the lawsuit was thrown out.

Mine have never drifted. They also never get used. I just use the Pro Controller or the Gamecube adapter. Why would I ever want to use those tiny Joy-Cons?

  6. Please Nintendo give the Switch 2 hall effect joysticks.

  7. I went to a local shop and spent like $120 to fix all my joycons with drift issues.

I didn’t know I had to apply to anything to be part of the lawsuit. My god Nintendo NEEDED to be sued for this. Its such a huge widespread issue and to have it dismissed is just gross.

Use the pro controller. Joy cons are junk

Buy a pro switch controller off Temu. I bought mine (Zelda themed) for like 9$ or something last fall and haven’t had a single issue. Even came in a box that looks just like nintendos.

I wonder if they’re made in the same factory

Honest question: why does Microsoft not get criticized as much for drift on their controllers? Are there just not that many Xbox users?

  11. Meanwhile, 75 million of joy-con pairs were trashed.

First thing I did with my switch was to get 2 bluetooth controllers. Joy-Cons are cheap, plastic shit

Nintendo doubled down on a few things this generation. One of them being that their build quality is b-tier.

Both my original joycons and my pro controller have gotten unplayable drift. It’s why my Switch has been collecting dust.

it was nonsense anyways, all modern controllers faced drift and you got warranty and extended warranties. its pretty easy to fix it when it occurs with contact cleaners, replacing it yourself is also pretty easy and quick, much cheaper than buying new.

not saying it wasnt annoying, but tiny system, tiny components, no room for deadzones. the more precise stick controls got, the less room they had to obfuscate drift, which was an issue as early as ps1.

Yeah I guess my solution is going to be buy a new set of joy cons and return the old set that developed drift.
