i never played the old nes final fantasies, so these pixel remasters, especially 1, 2 and 3, have been one heck of a treat. love seeing the different mechanics that used to be around, like friggin spell slots! the quality of life improvements are everything an older gentleman like myself needs for gaming on the go.
anyway here’s some little baby fan art of my party from final fantasy: monk, warrior, red mage, and white mage

When I was growing up, we only had 1, 4, and 6 while 2 ,3, and 5 were legends. Now going forward there will be generations of folks who see the first six FF games as all the same. It’s pretty cool. I like that FFV getting the love it deserves finally.

Cool! I’ve been playing through the Pixel Remasters recently too, after I got a physical copy of the collection last Christmas. I’ve already finished I-V, and I’m currently going though VI.
Despite owning copies of the games for years on other consoles, I hadn’t played the first 6 games until now, and I’m kinda kicking myself for not doing so sooner cuz they’re all great games, I’m enjoying them a lot. I’ll probably be pretty sad once I finish VI and have no more of the 2D FF games to play…

I’m 7 hours into the first one at the moment and I am loving it! Never played FF before but was always interested in them.

I love this so much.
Final Fantasy VI is my favorite FF game. I played it for the first time 4 or 5 years ago. I had no nostalgia for the series and I was completely floored by how amazing it was. It prompted me to try and play other FF games and from there I was an instant fan. Classic FF is such a fun look to the past. So many memorable game play mechanics, characters, scenarios, and each OST is impeccable.
Glad you’re having fun with the game!

I would love to play these, but im against digitals and even the physical copy from play asia is too much for me to bite. If it was $60 i’d buy it.

I kinda want to try it but that shit is to expensive for what it is

My backlog is nuts and I’m hoping for a decent sale end of this year to buy the full package and play the shit out of them over Christmas.
I’m really excited to try FF2 and FF5 especially.

My biggest complaint is that these aren’t the best versions of the games to play and yet for most of them they are the versions I have to buy. 1 and 2 being the biggest offenders since they aren’t the Dawn of Souls versions as far I am aware.

Im playing through the collection now and loving it. Currently on FF III.
And as someone with limited time to play games now I really appreciate the option for extra exp and Gil!
