Slightly disappointed they still only let you accept one sidequest at a time. But the new warp hub will definitely make the tedium less painful.

Also they said they added some shortcuts to certain backtrack moments, but itโ€™s more like a bandaid than a solution.

  2. Super_Lion_1173

Never played the original so Iโ€™m excited to try this out!

  3. Bujininja

Gamecube has so many great games! I loved N64 but that shit was clunk-fest – Every game that was on gamecube felt so polished and smooth. I remember MK deception and being blown away.

  4. Loukoal117

Never played it but love paper Mario. 90 based on 47 scores. Damn. Must be totally worth it.

  5. Hydroponic_Donut

Man, I’m so glad they’re tapping back into the Gamecube. Gamecube was so iconic to me growing up and this was one we didn’t have but other people did and I’d try it at their houses. I can’t wait for this

  6. stratusnco

a game from 2004 with a review of 87 on meta critic gets another good score.

    surprised pikachu face*

  7. Key-Position1732

Played 64 and the got the GameCube one for Christmas one year and played the intro and never went back. I was too focused on other games but I canโ€™t wait to try it again!

  8. Shadethewolf0

Im a massive paper mario 64 fan but never was able to get TTYD. Super excited for the switch release, already pre downloaded it

  9. akeep113

if i’m not enjoying super mario RPG will I probably not like this either?

  10. KazzieMono

Iโ€™m so excited for a new generation of gamers to grow up with this amazing game

Thinking about this game again is making me realize it’s actually quite easy to determine what are my favorite games of all time. It’s simply the games that I wanted to play again after finishing, or want to experience again even after playing the original. (aka games I’ve bought multiple times)

TYD is definitely on that list. I can’t wait to share it with my kids.

  13. dokka_doc

This is unironically one the great RPGs, frankly. Amazing game

  14. aggravatedempathy

The original was 10/10, so I’m sure this one is too.

  15. I feel like this would look SO GOOD on the OLED model but I just cant justify upgrading the model before Super Switch 2 Pro. Plus I havenโ€™t bought or played anything on my switch since COVID lol.

  16. ThatBoyAiintRight

I originally completed this game over the course of years renting it from Blockbuster, than ultimately borrowing it from a friend to finally complete it. Lol

Holds a special place to me for that reason. Made it feel more like a nice book I kept coming back to over time. The game is like 90% meat and 10% fat and that’s why it’s so good imo.

  17. TyrannosaurusHives

Really interested in playing this, but I have limited experience in RPGs. Do you think this is a good entry point, or if I enjoy platformers / adventure games like 3D Mario games and BOTW will I like this?

  18. TheCatLamp

Wake me when they put Rouge Squadron II and III there.

Ill be sleeping longer than Chtullu.

  19. SovietKnuckle

I’m pretty sure this is one I missed (too young and no money to be able to buy things myself) so I am definitely looking forward to this!

  20. mostlytoastly

Played this game twice, once when it came out and again ten years ago. Loved it each time. Cant wait to revisit it.

Also very happy I live in a time where I can play Mario & Luigi, SMRPG and the Paper Marios all one one system

  21. Terrible_Buy_1589

IGN hitting it outta the park once again with another difficult review.

  22. Primary_Glum

Cant wait haha, played it as a kid and didnt go past the dragons castle, bout to beat this game now ๐Ÿ˜

  23. Almightyderek

Always been one of my favorite games and I feel like it’s amongst the most Nintendo-like of Nintendo games.

  24. Wolfman-101

Is it the exact same game as GameCube or is there new content?

  25. I could never get passed the 2nd chapter cause I was a
stupid kid who never read anything. Iโ€™m so excited to play it all the way through now

  26. dataresissimist

Anyone know when it will be available to play? I know the release date is for Thursday, but have they said what time?

  27. Cannot wait to play it this weekend. Do not own the cube so I haven’t played the previous version.

  28. montybo2

Only really played the N64 one but I see the booby ghost over there and I’m intrigued

  29. nessaissweet

heheh im so exicted even more so since we trans women won <3

  30. Damuhfudon

Nintendo is single handedly keeping gaming alive

  31. Give us a Fire Emblem Path of Radiance remake already!!!

  32. Klhoe318

Is this better than origami king? I never finished origami king.

  33. schuey_08

I know people like to knock IGN reviews, but Logan Plant is becoming an awesome reviewer on the Nintendo front.

  34. ItsEaster

My wife keeps asking if this is out yet so now I can finally say yes. I think Iโ€™ll just surprise her by having it downloaded and ready to play.

  35. RumHam88

I missed this one from the GameCube era. I’m a *massive* fan of Mario RPG. Would I enjoy this game as much or should they not be really compared?

  36. martinaee

Would this be fun to play with someone else? Does it have good pacing or can it get tedious to watch the battling and such if not the one playing. I never played it on GC so might play this!

  37. itzmoepi

Should be 10/10 this is the best game in the series, it’s impeccableย

  38. Far-Wind2370

Any big changes to this game or the post game?

  39. Miserable-Bear7980
