The funny thing about believing in an algorithm is you’d have to believe Niantic actually spent extra time and money to develop something that wouldn’t make them money. Funny stuff
I swear it’s stressful every time I play GBL, I don’t know why I keep putting myself through this. It seems like I always end my last set with a loss and go negative and it leaves me in a bad mood. I really gotta rethink my life choices lol
Water meta in UL: 2700-3000 in 3 days: Jelly, Guzz, lantern (SS).
I will keep saying it until things change: if there isn’t an algorithm, then the amount of cheating is off the carts and Naintic isn’t doing a damn thing about it. Want to know what I ran into in GL last night? A BLEEPING Articuno! You want to know who runs that if there is no algorithm? Someone who KNOWS my team line up and KNOWS it will hard counter me.
I empathize with the loss after a climb. I climbed over 200 elo to 2400+ really pushing for expert as a new serious GBL player.
The team was S. Exca, Ape, S. Gligar. There was a few times where i genuinely hard countered the enemy, but a lot of the wins were careful energy management, a few clutch catches, etc.
But man, todays sets were just brutal. So many lost leads, and even hard countered on swap, it was genuinely disheartening.
Then even when i switched teams around after falling about 100 ELO, it still happened.
Its just genuinely disheartening because even when you try to adapt, you get punished. And youre limited to 25 battles a day, so you just have to hope tomorrow you dont get the same horrid luck.
I really wanna like GBL but I see why so much of the community is so over it.
You need more to go full BBM bulk team
U are good with togedemaru maybe try a team with him and 2 pokemon with a good stat product
This is just my second season trying competitive gbl, I’m veteran 2574, was almost expert first time but now hopes are lost. Game just kept cardcountering me. And I had abb style teams, so I wasn’t aba weak to bad leads. I’m done with this game and niantic, it’s just always putting me in a foul mood.
Been liking dewgong, sableye and trevenant
All I get are hard counters these days. Glad I at least locked in Ace but I was *so close* to veteran for once
If you get tired of the meta just switch your team completely and you will be in a different meta.

I'm just as stuck as you are: got to 2910 during Remix, but then leagues swapped to Catch Cup and I fell into 2650. I'll go 4/5 on one set with a new team, but the rest of the sets are 2/5.
It's rough when you keep fighting the same lead/team but as soon as you swap you never see it.
It's rough tbh. I've always made it to Veteran but ths season seems very bleak. Every time i reach close to Veteran Mark i get hard countered and a drop a few 100 pts and the climb to get back those lost pts is really difficult…
I got so close to veteran. Played the besy I could and got to like 2300+ and then just tanked ever since. Can't catch a break. Its naking me want to just stop playing tbh.

I played against this exact team and it rolled my build. I was running sandslash double flier. The ice punch made the difference.
No one can counter the Algo. .500 at season end just like the season before! Rinse and repeat
I’m using annihilape mandibuzz trevenant not bad so far
i was using anni, dew,skar and only found lanturns. I switched to trev as lead, then shadow alo sandslash and lanturn myself and went got my highest of all time at 2298 so far
You 're overthinking your teams. Run the simplest ABB team you can think of. Just make sure you're not double weak to Lanturn (and counter) bc if you haven't seen it in the lead or as the safe swap, you can assume that it'll definitely be in the back. That's what the last few days have taught me 😅

Hi Dan, i used shadow Feraligatr, shadow Empoleon and Gligar to reach legend for the first time!
whiscash shadow gligar skarm, got legend with 2 different accounts that team me and my friends. extremly safe team can get you out of most situiations.
Mangezone everywhere because of Palasha and her alone
Dan you have to try mantine , victreebel , annhialape i got only positive sets and got to my highest rank yet (victreebel in my opinion is one of the best and most underated pokemon in the meta)

I’m in china for almost 6 weeks now, using the vpn app to watch YouTube, but can’t play Pokémon, missed all the events so far. Coming back in mid June, hopefully not much going between now to then.
State of 21s is miserable. Everyone dropped in catch cup and the lag is horrendous.

7:30 fyi Shadow Gatr beats Azu in all evens. You could’ve stayed in and taken switch and put Dewgong on Gligar. Probably easier than Dewgong on Azu.

Dan try shadow a slash/azu (I’m currently running hydro instead of play rough) and been testing sableye clod and fuecoco
Trev feels strong in the current meta tbh. Feasts on Lanturn, Whiscash, Gatr, Ape, has play into fliers like Gligar and Skarm. I pair it with Basti because I’m okay with people hating me.
Ran a team of Sableye, S-Aslash and S-Venusaur. Guess what I kept running into in the back? Skeledirge 3 out of 5 matches, after not seeing any fire Pokémon. All the Annihilapes I ran into all the sudden had ice punch instead of night slash. I’m convinced that there is an algorithm.
I've been running S Dnair with Tenta, and Basti in the back. Tenta draws out the mudboys. Been pretty strong for me lately
its strange, i queued into you yesterday and you were using a sableye team and i checked youtube to see the deoxs video, i was expecting to see something on the sable team today but this, switch it up almost as much as me on the last weeks haha
