The second one is surprising. Release a bare bone games forget about it and then do a sequel. Couldn’t Switch Sports get more DLC?

Whoever wrote that article doesn’t know Zelda lmao. Midori never said anything about a Zelda spinoff, but possibly a remake like Link’s Awakening, which is not a spinoff

Zelda is ripe for an RPG spinoff. They have plenty of characters to form a party. Elements for a combat weakness/strength gimmick. Given to the right team, we might even get an interesting story.

I want more Zelda spinoffs soooo badly. For Zelda being one of Nintendo’s “big” franchises they’re sooo conservative with doing spinoffs. I loved Hyrule Warriors, I want to see what else they can do

  5. ApolloDread

Inject more Hyrule Warriors right into my veins

  6. JamieJGJ

Everything Zelda… Except WW and TP sadly

  7. DanHero91

For a very brief second I thought that was a singular game. Switch Sports Hyrule Edition.

This sounds to me to show of the new hardware abillity (not talking about how powerfull)

Bring back Wuhu Island! Or at least something that feels like it. The Spocco Square is so lifeless.

  10. Can they make a decent modern Zelda game that actually feels like a Zelda game, totk is great as a standalone non Zelda title but is not a good Zelda game

  11. Tripdoctor

Can we get mii sports? Miis got shafted on the switch and they were always one of my favourite features of modern Nintendo.

For context: “There is a project at Nintendo with the codename Edward.

This might be related to the rumors of a new Zelda series title.”

“Richard was the codename for Link’s Awakening remake on Switch.”

That’s what Midori tweeted about Zelda

They better give this Switch Sports successor just as, if not more content than Wii Sports Resort. I liked switch sports but the lack of content burnt me out very fast

Would be down for a game where we play as Zelda alone.

  15. I hope it’s a new 2D Zelda, idk why they stopped making them since the Switch came out. It’s also a good way to have old-style dungeons and items while 3D Zelda keeps doing new stuff.

  16. Don’t get too excited, it’s been awhile since we got a Tingle game, Nintendo likely thinks we’re due

  17. Elbowmax2015

3D Zelda Remake series in line to what was done for Metroid prime starting with Ocarina of time.

  18. Odyssey1022

If you’re gonna do a switch sports successor you gotta include baseball.

  19. Wolfman-101

I really hope its another hyrule warriors

Neat. I think an actual successor to Hyrule Warriors 1 would be really cool, drawing from even more games than that one, as well as BOTW and TOTK. I know we got Age of Calamity, but that game exclusively drew from BOTW, not the whole series. Though, I feel like if it is another Warriors, it’ll be another prequel (at least partially before becoming its own non-canon thing like AOC turned into partway through), this time for TOTK.

Would make since, presumably a 3D Mario game will be coming out with the new console. Probably want something Zelda to come out pretty shortly after but don’t want a mainline game out too soon.

  22. Rex_T360

I think Zelda could definitely do with more spin offs. Hyrule Warriors is cool and all but there’s so much room for other types of gameplay in the world of Zelda.

Personally, I’d love to see a Zelda action game where you play as Sheik or some new battle-ready version of Zelda and/or a full on Zelda RPG where you have a party of original characters based on Zelda races like a Goron or a Zora (heck, just let Monilithsoft develop their own Zelda game and make it an RPG). Something along the lines of that Zelda strategy RPG that Retro Studios came up with would also be pretty cool.

  23. The Zelda spinoff will be called Link, and you’ll control Zelda.

  24. OctopusButter

A new spinoff? So, like how BotW and TotK were spinoffs right?

  25. Turn7Boom

Every is imagining “Zelda spinoff” to mean something grand and awesome, but it might just mean Triforce Heroes II.
