I never really figured out anything beyond the initial concept except that either the evolution or the Shiny would have white coral instead of pink to represent coral bleaching. This little guy would’ve been one of the starters of a fake leak based on Australia, though since I’m working on another idea called Pokémon ? and ! (also based on Australia), I might bring this guy back as a standard Pokémon or even have it replace the Water Starter. What are your thoughts on the design?
