Will be random indies and sports games. Ship has sailed for the switch to ever get a Wind Waker remake, any fire emblem remakes etc.
Still hoping for Pokemon Gen 5 remakes.

I’ve been hoping for a Chrono Trigger release of some sort since the launch of the Switch, I have a feeling I’ll be waiting until the next console for it.

I think everyone agrees there will be something Zelda in it. I think Twilight Princess & Wind Waker HD ports are the easy answer. But I like to believe they’ll surprise us.

I’m really hoping for a new animal crossing, I mean it’s been almost 5 years now.
People, as usual, are expecting the world out of this direct. I think this will most likely be a very lowkey direct. The switch is winding down its life cycle and so I don’t really think they’re gonna have much to show off. There’s also not gonna be any announcements for any big properties that are far off since it would be releasing for the next console. Realistically, I expect this direct to mostly have a bunch of 3rd party whatever games, a few interesting indies, and maybe one big first party game to cover the holiday season.
I don’t expect anything Pokemon as they tend to release stuff separately in focused directs. I don’t expect any new Zelda or Mario games other than maybe a re-release of something. There won’t be any new Fzero of Star Fox. A Metroid Prime 4 release or even update would be nice but that seems more likely to go to the next console at this point. Monolith’s probably gonna be a while before they release anything new whether they continue Xenoblade or not. A Fire Emblem 4 remake has been rumored for years but I think it’s just been scrapped at this point.
Here’s hoping I’m wrong and everyone’s dreams come true but I doubt it.

I’d expect a Zelda re release and I lowjey hope for a OOT remaster but odds are wind waker or twilight princess. My guess is game will drop late August early September to go along side the Zelda lego set.
Could we ever get a prime 2 and 3 like they did with pikmin? Assuming there is a prime 4, wouldn’t releasing the 2 in between be smart?

What is the hype about if they’ve stated it won’t be about their new console? I think it’s fairly likely that any major release of their popular IP’s are going to be behind the new console at this point, so I don’t see much being announced that isn’t minor/DLC, 3rd party ports, and/or Indie titles.

Im getting a summer of crafting vibe with a jubilie of “get ready for!” generic whiney american jrps with k-pop wailing in the background and over saturated ps2 graphics.
I am just hoping for the windwaker/twilight princess port,anything else would be gravy.
I know I’m high on copium with this one, but it really feels like a good time for XenobladeX to leave the Wii U. We’re in that in-between phase on new Xenoblade games and I’m just kind of assuming that the Switch is gonna end with more low-key titles like ports/remasters. Idk I just want it lol

Mario Galaxy 2 would be a nice surprise. Would complete the Mario library on switch.

The Zelda remakes for switch is going to happen. They spaced out Mario rpg and TTYD and they’re doing it with skyward sword. So we getting wind waker and / or twilight princess

I am not expecting much given we already know the Switch’s successor is coming and the big blockbuster games are likely being saved for that system. I expect this Direct and the Switch’s lineup for the rest of the year to be a mix of remasters, remakes, and maybe a surprise third party game.
So, with that all said, here are my predictions.
Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy Way/Thracia 776 Remake
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Remastered
Metroid Prime 2 Remastered
Super Mario 3D Land HD
Either Kirby Triple Deluxe or Planet Robobot HD
A new Mario Party game
A new Mario Baseball game
A surprise third-party game that is part of a long-running series that gets announced for the first time. My guess is it will either by Mega Man 12 or Pac-Man World 2
Final Fantasy IX remake gets revealed.
We are due for some new Kirby game. I need my yearly dose of the Pink Puffball. Come on HAL, it has been over a year since the RtDl remake. Antdude needs a new Kirby game to review.

Gonna guess a bunch of filler games to hold off til the next console. Maybe prime 2&3 and twilight princess & wind waker. And some spin off games.
I’m hoping they shadow-drop Luigi’s Mansion to the Switch so we have all three.

I mean, at this point, on the verge of the new Console, they HAVE to announce Metroid Prime 4, or it might be a big disappointment not having any news about it after it was revealed half a decade ago. At this point it might end up being a double launch as it was with Breath of The Wild, releasing on the same day on the Switch and on the new console.
