This regional variant of Torchic is taller than the Hoennian counterparts and they lived in harsh, mountainous regions. The rough terrain and high elevations have played a role of their physical strength and size. Their large legs store energy in addition to giving them extraordinary strength and speed, aiding them in running and climbing. They shed muscular slabs from their legs on a regular basis, which the locals regard as a highly nutritious delicacy.
Regional Torchic is based on a Dong Tao Chicken, also known as the Dragon Chicken, hence the Dragon type and their bulky legs.
