Some ‘mons inspired by Salamander Algae/Spotted Salamanders!

A mon and its Evo inspired by the symbiotic relationship of "salamander algae" and the Spotted Salamander – a species of salamander that uses algae cells and photosynthesis during development to grow larger.

Dex entries

Algohm – From birth, this Pokemon shares a symbiotic relationship with a type of algae. The algae stores solar energy in the film of Algohm's bubble, and by briefly piercing it, Algohm can release some of that energy in the form of an electrical burst.

An amphibious Pokemon that shares symbiosis with algae. By exciting the energy stored in its bubble, it can create electric shocks. The algae cells have not yet fully fused with its own, so they must rely on each other for protection.

Salohmander – This Pokemon is often seen sunbathing to charge its cells. It's capable of turning sunlight into electric attacks via the cells along its back and tail. If it has to, it can shed its tail, which can still retain a significant charge.

Now fully fused with the algae cells, it has complete control over its photosynthetic abilities. When threatened, it can electrify its skin, or even form spikes from its cells to focus lightning-bolt attacks. Its tail can be used to power small machines.

Unique ability – Algae Bubble: If a Water-type attack is used by this Pokemon, its power will be increased by 25%. The user is also immune to the Burned status condition.

(In hindsight, I probably should've given a similar ability to Salohmander, like "Algae Cells" or something, but it is what it is)
