    That’s clickbait.

The description explains Link and Zelda each type of gameplay. But doesn’t really confirm if Link will be playable beyond the beginning we saw on the trailer.

Reading the article, I interpret that as Link being playable at the start of the game OR them spoiling that he is playable as a post game surprise.

Would be cool if we take control of Link in the dark world at certain points of the game. Maybe he has to do things on his end to open up paths for Zelda in the light world? Lots of possibilities.

Inside source: Prince Richard will be a playable character

  5. echoess84

that isn’t an official Nintendo statement I won’t rely on it

Playable link would be fun as post game or some ng+ mode where the game could be played like a normal zelda, but i’d rather see other female characters be playable given itd be in line with playable zelda being the main point of this game.

Playable impa with projectiles and climbing, maybe malon or whoever the zora princess/queen is?

I can see them pulling a Symphony of the Night-esque opening where you start the game with a fully powered Link (full hearts, full magic, all his iconic gear available) and you just bulldoze through Ganon’s castle and then fight Ganon before switching to Zelda.

I fucking hope not. Commit to the damn lead title character being the actual playable character AT LAST!

I’d love a game where you play as both with each character affecting the other’s world. Something akin to draining the well in the light world made the sixth dungeon accessible in Link to the Past.

I’ll be damned if after 30+ years of waiting to finally get Zelda playable in a non-spinoff game they decide to split her time 😭

I’ve been hoping that there would be a postgame mode where you play Link, going through the game without the Echo abilities. Maybe go through the overworld dungeons in a traditional way leading up to the fight with Ganon. The Zelda 1 ladder, the Rok’s feather, Hookshot, and the Ice & Fire Rods could be used to help Link navigate the world effectively enough I’d imagine. They have to build Link anyways for the prologue, and already have a good amount from the LA remake, so why not.

Yessssss. I get to play as the floating chair! game of the year!

  13. GrimmTrixX

Maybe this is a prequel or sequel to Link to the Past. If it’s a prequel maybe we can play as Link’s uncle!

  14. Will the snes dogbone controller work with this game? I was always disappointed that it didnt with the links awakening remake.

  15. Raphe9000

We already knew Link would be playable because he has the playable character shadow during the Ganon fight in the trailer.

  16. maukenboost

Watch this being true and link not being playable.

Here’s my three possible ways they might do this:

    1) Playing Link is the classic first act of the game (like the Young Link segment of OoT, or the Hyrule segment of ALttP) while the Zelda segment is the longer second act (Adult Link segment; Dark World segment)

    2) Link is the New Game+ playthrough

    3) Zelda alone is the first act, rescuing Link enters the second act and being able to freely switch between them is the second act

I’ve speculated that there’s an over and underworld and you play as link in the latter.

Swear to god this site spams things here and somehow they’re always upvoted

Multiple characters might be overblown. Link is prolly playable in the beginning and that’s it.

  21. So weird. The goal of the game is to rescue Link.
