As mentioned in my last post, my fan game is gonna be called Pokemon Prismatic Darkness. Two types of special Pokemon will appear in the game, called Prism Pokemon and Darkness Pokemon. To properly explain, I’ll give a run-down of what I’ve got for the lore so far.
Hundreds of years ago, the Aovena region was an extremely chaotic and dangerous place. It was so bad, humans and most Pokemon couldn’t live there. This was caused by the Dark King (who is a Pokemon that will go unnamed for now), who has control over Dark energy. He could instill evil and rage into any Pokemon. One day, a heroic human travelled to the Aovena region in order to defeat this evil. Along the hero’s journey, they rescued many Pokemon from the Dark King’s influence. Some of these Pokemon joined the hero in their quest to save Aovena. The hero’s pure heart and selflessness impressed a Legendary Pokemon known as the Prism Paladin, who also joined the team. The party approached the Dark King, and an epic battle ensued. The Dark King was too powerful though, and he easily picked off the hero’s following of Pokemon. The Prism Paladin knew the only way to stop the Dark King was to seal him away forever. The Paladin sacrificed itself to form a massive, invulnerable Prism to trap the Dark King. The plan succeeded, and the King was hidden away in a deep cavern for good. Though, the recent years Darkness Pokemon have started to return. The only explanation is the return of the Dark King.
So yeah that’s about it. Now I should actually explain Prism and Darkness Pokemon.
Prism Pokemon are descendants of the hero’s following of Pokemon, who have inherited some of the Prism Paladin’s power. They’re single typed variants of official Pokemon. They have the ability to switch into their Spectrum form, in which they gain a second type and 50 BST.
Darkness Pokemon are basically glorified regional forms that will be boss fights in game. Kinda like Pokemon Xenoverse’s X Pokemon if you know what that is. The forms will be inspired by what the Pokemon already has established in its design and dex entries, but with an edgy twist.
Sorry for the yap fest lol. TL;DR: Prism Pokemon are watered down mega evolutions, and Darkness Pokemon are glorified regional forms.
