Got a switch oled and sold it soon after. Very outdated technology but fun games. Will buy the new version for sure. Imo Switch should of been replaced years ago. Worse performance than my iphone

When Switch launched my outlook for it was not that optimistic. We just came off of Wii U and my faith in Nintendo was very low. I did think it would do better than Wii U, even though I liked the concept of it I didn’t think as many people who care or get it. Within a year I of its release my view changed. It was selling well, it was hard to get one.
I remember going to Gamestop before work one morning and going to preorder one, I had just missed the opportunity when I walked into the store. The one other guy in the store at the counter had just preordered the last one in that store. I gave up on trying to preorder but couldn’t wait too long, I was hyped. It was hard to get one from the usual places, Gamestop, Walmart, Bestbuy, Target, Amazon, etc. I talk to my mom a lot of what’s going on in my life and I told her I was trying to get a Switch, in July that year she had called me and said that this places that was online only and you had to have a line of credit with to shop from had the Switch but only in bundles and she offered to get it as long as I paid her back, so that’s what I did. Ended up getting a $500 bundle with BotW, a pro controller, and an SD card.
I still can’t believe how great the Switch did. Again I was optimistic that it was going to do better than Wii U, but I thought it would end up somewhere between 60-80 Million units sold. It’s in my top 5 of favorite Nintendo consoles.

I STILL remember the reveal posts on Reddit when the Switch was announced and the number of “What? A gaming cell phone?” “My iPhone is faster” “Virtual boy 2.0”, “only 720p screen? What is this, 1996?” posts dominated the discussion.
Here we are now. Turns out, casual gamers make up far more of the market than anyone cares to admit.

This just further proves Xbox has no coming back in the hardware market. The Switch is 10 years old and the Series S is barely more expensive than it. They have no system seller for the next few years and people are going to choose to buy PlayStations for exclusives of it comes down to it.
Add on the fact that most game sales are digital now and people will be even less likely to move away from a system (PS5 in this case) that they have purchased a library of games for.
