nintendo is really ending all their phone games mario kart animal crossing and dragalia lost

  2. Sky-HighSundae

if they made mario kart tour offline only that would go incredibly hard

  3. Alive_Maintenance943

Shit, I better start playing now so I have a save that can be used on the offline version

  4. myseriouspineapple

Big W that they are making an offline version, well done Nintendo!

  5. Glad they’re making an offline version and not just dumping everything into the void like so many other mobile games do. I suspect they’re ending it so they can send the devs to Switch 2 projects.

  6. ZebaZtianRamireZ

At least they’re making an offline version

  7. Offline version? Ooh, nice! This is the way to go.

  8. WHAAAAAAAAT? NOOOOOOO

(Last time I played the game was like, three years ago)

  9. NeoKat75

Offline version is so based, all mobile devs should do this

I stopped playing years ago (but did play for 2-3 solid years before that). If they introduce an offline mode I might give it another try. I liked it, but didn’t like the multiple subscriptions you needed to sign up to so you could properly take part in the events without dedicating your life to it.

They’re replacing it with an offline, paid app, and…
I can’t lie, the idea of a mobile Animal Crossing- that’s one time purchase and without additional monetization- is *far* more enticing than what we have now.

  12. TheyJustLetYouDoIt

Why not add this content to new horizons?  They have done animal crossing and its fans so dirty.

As a hardcore FEH player, it gives me a small sigh of relief that Nintendo could extend an offline version of the game in the event the game finally stops receiving updates.

Now this is how you sunset a live-service game.

180 less platinum points a week. I wish there will be some other income sources >.>

  16. BabyYoduhh

Well if they supported their phone games at all after releasing them. I feel like mario run got nothing.

  17. Dragonbuttboi69

Considering it’s touch screen controls I’m surprised they never tried porting wild world to mobile.

Man it’s crazy that FE Heroes is outliving every other (non-Pokemon) Nintendo mobile game. This series used to be completely unknown outside of Smash Bros and now it’s so big that it’s eclipsing other Nintendo mobile titles.

You know that Regular Show meme where it shows everyone sitting together in one panel, then the next panel shows a bunch of gravestones and Skips being the sole survivor? That’s FEH right now lol.

While it’s sad to see this game go, I can’t really be to upset with the offline version coming. I hope if the same thing happens to fire emblem heroes we get an offline version as well, that game really means a lot to me.

As a mild Pocket Camp enjoyer. I’m way more hyped now.

  21. windwaker910

I used to play PC daily but it became way too much to keep up with, especially as a f2p. Might be worth picking up again to catch up without having constant new events to grind out. It was fun while it lasted.

If they ever did something similar with FEH I’d probably go back to that too, whenever I open it now there’s like 30 banners and 4 events going on at one time. Nobody got time for that

  22. GhostfogDragon

this is actually so awesome as a person that kind of loathes mobile game models. I like my games complete, thank you very much.

  23. takeitsweazy

Converting it to an offline version as they sunset it is great for game preservation. Let’s hope this is a trend that continues.

  24. MarcsterS

It’s hilarious how for years, just about everyone was telling Nintendo they need to embrace the mobile market or they’ll be left behind.

Then the Switch released and now no one really cares that they’re ending 80% of their mobile games.

  25. luminous-snail

Awesome!!! I will actually play this.

  26. DNukem170

Oh, THIS gets an offline mode but not Dragalia.

  27. ravenpotter3

Nooo, that’s sad. I have not played in a long time but I played to get those Nintendo coins. At least they are replacing it

  28. PaperClipSlip

I’m kinda surprised Pocket Camp lasted as long as it did. It made far less money then Mario Kart Tour, yet it still survived this long.

Now only Fire Emblem Heroes remains. I wonder if that’ll end ever. It seems to be printing money, but it’s revenue has been in decline for a while now.

  29. LordTimhotep

That’s a pretty nice solution for ending a game, all things considered.

I’m not saying it’s good, but in the current gaming climate, this is not too bad.

  30. lyntopia

So the only thing thats changing is no connection to other players and one time payment when downloading the game?

  31. AdmirableTable1677

Sorry if this has already been answered, just wondering if everything that we’ve earned since 2017 (clothing , decorating etc) will be transferred to the new game (since it’s saved data on Nintendo?) I think I read it will but just want to confirm.

  32. drjenkstah

I was disappointed when I read the first part of the headline and then pleasantly surprised when I read the last part. What a rollercoaster of emotions.

  33. kevinmise

I’ve put hundreds, maybe about under a grand, into this game…. I already made peace that I enjoyed it for what it was worth when I stopped playing often about a year ago. I figured the day would come when I lose my progress – this is refreshing to hear.

  34. Neat. Can this happen to Mario Kart Tour, please?

  35. I remember quitting pocket camp because I got depressed because most of the items you got there wasn’t in new horizon and I bum me out. I would love to play this game

  36. It’s actually surprising to see them make an offline version. Dr Mario World should’ve gotten one too

  37. awesumindustrys

At least they’re making it playable offline so it’s not vaporware but it still sucks for people who play it.

  38. I wonder if that means the lootbox restricted regions will allow the app to run again. Nintendo disabled both this and FE Heroes in Belgium because of its monetization, so it’d be nice to have this one back at least.
