Happy birthday to the insane JRPG machine.

The SNES is such a great system. It’s one of only two consoles I picked up on launch day, the Switch being the other.
Playing Super Mario World was mind blowing at the time.

Happy birthday to one of my favorite gaming consoles! The other being NES.

The Yakuza only worked during daylight due to an irrational fear of Batman.

Happy birthday, SNES! You were the best!

The console I hold closest to my heart, this is where my gaming history started 😊

If anyone cares, the launch title lineup was: F-Zero, Gradius III, Pilotwings, SimCity, and Super Mario World.
If you were willing to import a Super Famicom from Japan… then at the time of the SNES’s launch in North America, you could expand from five games to twenty-nine. The additional 24 games are:
ActRaiser, Battle Dodge Ball, Darius Twin, Drakkhen, Extra Innings, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fight, Gdleen, Hal’s Hole in One Golf, Harukanaru Augusta, Jetco Rally: Big Run: The Supreme 4WD Challenge, Ka-Blooey, Kidou Senshi Gundam F91: Formula Senki 0122, Nolan Ryan’s Baseball, Populous, Shodan Morita Shougi, Super Baseball Simulator 1.000, Super Bases Loaded, Super R-Type, The Great Battle, The Legend of the Mystical Ninja, U.N. Squadron, Ultraman: Towards the Future, and Ys III: Wanderers from Ys.

I remember walking into Toys r Us around 7pm and seeing it and buying it that night. Got Populus with it if you can believe it, instead of the great first party games that released with it.
Dalehan
As much as I loved my SNES, it was a bit of a shame I only ever owned two games on it because my parents didn’t want to spend so much money on individual games. I only ever owned Super Mario World (which shouldn’t count, came with the system) and Donkey Kong Country, all other games were rentals (which only lasted 3 days here).
Joestac
I can still hear the Uniracers music.
RockD79
Still have my original from 8/31/91 Toys R Us.
NoaLink
Still have mine in the original box. Best console ever.Â
