I wish I had known. I had been hording incubators and finally broke them out recently to complete a research task sooner… now they are pretty much all spent up and only 2 of those eggs hatched during this challenge.
I think I just lost us the challenge boys…

i don’t see the math working out. beating rocket grunts was trivially easy and i’m sure even casual players at least beat like 10. But casual players without any extra incubators will only hatch 1-3 eggs in that time.

I put about half my eggs in incubators but I’m running low on incubators and don’t wanna buy more and it’s 100F outside so I’m not gonna be out walking unless it cools down like 15-20 degrees later, even then probably not because the park closes when it gets dark so idk if this is happening

I’m gonna be honest, I saved up 12 red eggs for this. I’m not hatching them unless I get the double stardust bonus this whole event is crap, it honestly should’ve had all 3 goals active simultaneously and give either bonus progress if it aligns with your team or bonus rewards.

The first one was to catch as many Pokemon as possible within 14 days. When the event was first announced the goal was set at 10 million, but a few days later it was increased to 100 million. No explanation was given.
The final total was 16 million.

idk… there’s a lot of players that grind eggs and its 1/2 hatch distance or something- plus there’s been several incubators and super incubators as rewards or discounted bundles leading up to this- Ive saved up about 2-3 dozen uses of super incubators since I heard this was coming
My rewards for the 1st round was a hundo xurkitree, 1 shiny Necrosma, shiny Buzzwole, and shiny Phermosa. I had just woken up and thought I was dreaming. Then I got a shiny Ponyta and omanyte. I savor the flavor. I was in 2nd place (maybe 1st it stopped counting at 81) for the Go Battle balloon dudes. The balloon kept coming around back to back 5 min increments. Was out of control. No interest in the eggs, I hatched #504 eggs prior with only two shinys. Not worth it.

Yeah, I didn’t realize they were back to back all in 7 days, I would’ve grinded harder on rockets, but like nope. If we could’ve chosen the order that would’ve been so much better because we could’ve knocked two out easy.

Asia and Europe are asleep right now. The half-distance bonus will kick in only after you hatched your first egg, so the speed is likely to pick up.
Also, hatching is a passive task, unlike the rocket members you have to actively fight. More people will hatch at least one egg than having defeated a rocket member.

People severely underestimate how many whales constantly have 9 incubators going, and how many people actually play this game. This is more feasible than the rocket grunts. In March there was 81 million active players. Might be a drop off now but that’s literally only 1/4 of that number that have to play and hatch a single egg. As well as all the people who constantly have 9 incubators going for shiny hunting.
