Pretty simple concept here. Wanted to add a two stage single element dog to my region (like Arcanine, Houndstone, Manectric, etc.) and the no-brain option for me was to make one based off of the breed of dog my first family dog was, a basset hound. They’re both ground type doggos with the oversized ears, and their bodies are basically just constantly dripping mud, think of the movement of the mud like how Grimer and Muk’s bodies work
Sluppup’s name is a huge mishmash of several words; the most obvious is pup, but you can also throw in several other words like slip/slippery, slop, and the name itself sounds like “slip up” which Sluppup is definitely doing a lot of with those big slippery ears
Basslip is just basset and slip combined. Had their eyes covered to help incorporate all the loose skin a basset hound has
So yeah that’s it basically, pretty straightforward. I also threw in a photo at the end of my first ever family dog which inspired this line. Been a few years now since we put her down and thought I had to include a basset hound like in my region. I owe the user “@poketrainervb” on instagram for helping me make this line.
