What lower-reviewed games are worth checking out at high discounts?

When a video game review assigns the score, it has to take the game’s price into account. This makes me think that a game sold for $50 might have gotten a better score if its starting price was $20, which would mean that there are probably a number of games with “deceptively low scores” on eShop.

Take Little Dragons Cafe for example. The starting price in Europe was 50 euro, and the current discounted price is 2,49 euro (-95%). I love buying all kinds of games at high discounts because I know that even if I don’t end up liking the game and only play it for 20 minutes, I didn’t waste too much money. But on the other hand, if a game is genuinely bad, buying it doesn’t make much sense.

So when I see a Metacritic score of 70, I can’t always tell if I would find the game annoying because of its flaws, or if the score is just a bit lower because the reviewers thought that the game didn’t justify its high price.

Therefore, I turn to you. What lower-reviewed games that you bought on a high discount surprised you by how much better they were than their score suggests?
